There seems to be some misunderstandings/misinformation going around right now, so let's make it clear: Kawhi Leonard did NOT receive max money on his 2024-27 extension

Some fans seem to be under the impression that Kawhi was signed on a max contract with the Clippers, so the current situation was not an instance of cap circumvention.

Kawhi Leonard signed a $149 million/3yr deal in early 2024, right around the time Paul George was also eligible for an extension that coming offseason. In hopes to help the Clippers retain PG, Kawhi took a paycut.

Kawhi was eligible for the same amount of money PG was at the time (and what PG is getting paid now): $223 million/4yr deal.

Kawhi's current contract is around 6 million AAV below what he could have gotten. That supposed $28 million he received under the table is a significant player in this decision and why this is a blatant instance of cap circumvention that is a huge precedent the league has set.

Adou Thiero in the Summer League semifinals against the Golden State Warriors: 18 PTS 10 REBS 3 ASTS 3 STLS on 6-6 FG 1-1 3PT 3-3 FT +8

A very fun game against the Warriors. Adou came out swinging tonight, not putting up a single miss, playing active defense and being a problem downhill.

Was unable to carry the Lakers to victory. They fall to the Warriors and are eliminated

Lakers play great defense on Caleb Wilson, leading to a trap and him forcing up a bad 3. Mañon laughs as he collects the rebound and takes it to the rim for the layup

Adou Thiero against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first game of the Las Vegas Summer League: 20 PTS 4 REBS 4 ASTS (0 TOs) 3 STLS and 2 BLKS on 8-14 FG 0-5 3PT 2-5 FT

This kid was a walking highlight reel tonight. 5 of 8 made field goals were insane dunks. So many insane jumps were shown today to finish oops and block shots at the rim. Just a force on both ends to help bring the Lakers a win in Vegas.

He was trying to hit some 3s today. Form looked good but it wasn't falling. Hope he continues this. So much athleticism and control tonight.

I know what I'm seeing. Chris Mañon and Arthur Kaluma deserves a real shot

Chris Mañon is currently a two-way player already and someone that I really hope gets a shot with the rotation. He is an elite G-League defender, being able to hold his own against mismatches and amazing POA defense. He was a 1st team all-defense member last season in the G-League. His 3 point shooting is a real concern but I think this defense is league ready or at the very least has a lot of potential. This is a high impact roleplayer just waiting for a chance

Arthur Kaluma is currently on a G-League contract and deserves heavy consideration for that two-way spot. A strong forward that defends well. He's a good finisher around the rim, athletic and potentially a decent spacer (a bit unclearly just yet)

William Kyle III also was a player that stood out today. I think he can be a decent two-way candidate.

What are your thoughts?

Cameron Carr in his second Summer League Game: 26 PTS 8 REBS 1 AST (1 TO) on 7-16 FG 4-9 3PT 4-5 FT. Overtime vs the Miami Heat

Pretty fun game of Summer League today. Carr continues his good shooting in the SL with an efficient 26 points. Lakers were down 14 at one point and fought back to force OT, then sudden death. Won off a Watson putback

This guy can ball. Shoutout Chris Mañon and Anton Watson.

What did you think about Arthur Kaluma today? His 3 ball wasn't falling, but I honestly thought he played pretty well. Hope he keeps balling this Summer League and shows more flashes

Tyler Herro throws more shade at former teammate Bam Adebayo via Instagram DMs with a random Heat fan

@ OleAhhNigPAT [FREAKY83] on Twitter just leaked a few screenshots of the chat messages they exchanged with the former Miami Heat player Tyler Herro. Man is losing his mind. Here is a quote from the rant:

>If I'm healthy they can't see me. Word to my mother. If I'm healthy I'm the one who needs help. Who did Cleveland prioritize taking away in the playoffs? Who did Boston prioritize taking away when Jimmy got hurt and we was the 8 seed? When I'm healthy. I need help. Not the other guy [Bam]. Word to my kids. Come on now let's call a spade a spade.

Tyler Herro posted a graphic showing the NBA's lowest FG% on midrange field goal attempts via his Instagram story on his alt account

Tyler Herro seems to be throwing not so subtle shade at the Miami Heat with his latest Instagram story. The graphic he posted features the 10 worst midrange shooters last season and two of those players are Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo
