Capital One Travel issue

I have a gap in my schedule next week that lined up pretty well with my family too. My youngest had been asking if we could sneak in a beach trip before she heads back to school so I tried to find a condo option on the Gulf Coast that I could pay for with points.

I'm searching Vacation Stays in the C1 portal and come across five days at a nice condo that checks all the boxes. Rate is great as well so I run it by the wife and pull the trigger. All is well and I received my confirmation from C1.

But, I have yet to receive anything from the condo owner. I've called C1 and they say they've reached out to tell the owner to send the condo details and they have until the day before the booking to do so.

We're now one week before we go and still no contact. They have an email address listed and a phone number and I've reached out to both, nothing.

If I cancel I lose all my points I used to book it. But odds are, this booking doesn't exist and as it seems C1 is using a third party to handle these, I'm kinda stuck....

Any ideas?

How to maximize Cat 1-4 awards

I've accumulated 7 Cat 1-4 Free night awards, the earliest of which will expire in March of next year. I live outside of Atlanta and I'm curious as to how some of you would maximize these. When we do travel, it's more for a vacation and not for work.

I do see some amazing properties in Asia and other countries that fall under Cat 4 but for the most part, there's not many amazing options in the states.

Any suggestions on how some of you would utilize these. I'm hoping to visit some amazing locations and not just a traditional small hotel travel lodge.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana

Just a data point for others staying here. We booked with points and I'm at Discoverist level. We opted to not choose the preferred level so our points room was a Tropical view.

We did have a GOH to apply to the stay but didn't know what that might provide. Some said it would get you preferred access but not a preferred room.

We ended up getting an upgrade to a garden view room, but no additional benefits. We've just arrived so I can't give any details about the resort yet, but everything we've seen so far is nice.
