I'm joking, of course.
Hello there. A while back, I don't remember how long ago, I was on an IRC chatroom, and someone there mentioned how in the metro stations they've been seeing a website design/hosting company, under the name of Helloly. XKCD had made fun of this. Also, if this is relevant, we talked for a bit afterwards, and if memory serves me right, they mentioned being Australian. Or maybe Austrian. I know it's cliche to mix these two up, sorry. I think it was Austrian, not Australian. Yeah, cause of timezone, lest they have an insane sleep schedule I really don't think it was Australia. Anywho...
I wasn't able to find said comic, though I did see one as follows
| Software Names in 200s | Now | | Aeolus | Windly |
If anyone remembers this comic, I'd really appreciate you sharing it here. Search engines, and my other attempt methods, have failed me, despite my effort. Thank you so much!
For example, when trying to fall asleep last night, I got stuck thinking about if the FBI, the federal law enforcement agency in my country, raided my home just now.
> "This is the FBI, open up!"
"May I please get dressed first?"
*"Open up now."*
"Ok, ok"
I get up, out of bed, nude, not sparing time to grab my cane, and go down the stairs to the front door, unlocking it shortly before it's forced open. A large group of armed and masked agents enter my home, some stopping to brandish their weapons at me. About two thirds proceed upstairs, and one third downstairs. I follow the larger group, in pain as I go up the stairs, but trying to make haste.
I try to politely request that they may gently handle my property, as it holds great value to me, but without care they just throw things, and turn them upside down, flipping my whole desk, and confiscating a few storage devices. It feels as though they're doing it more for the sake of taking advantage of their power than to actually search my home. Mind you, this is in my "day dream", though the Federal LEA in my country has a reputation of having this level of respect for peoples things, including innocents.
With the end of a rifle pointed at my head, they demand me to get on my knees and put my hands up. I watch helplessly as all I care about is destroyed, thinking they might kill me too. Eventually, I was so immersed that I forgot this was all in my head.
For another example, the other day in math class, I was staring outside the open door, and got distracted thinking about what if a nuclear bomb had gone off. For context, I live in a major population center, which is nearby a large source of real/perceived innovation, plus economic growth, both for my country and a good part of the world. Many tech companies are centered here, so, it is a realistic nuke target. I'll spare the details for the sake of brevity, but for a good while I was just completely lost in this scenario.
Anyone else? I heard, Dr. Russell Barkley, I think, several months ago, saying this was a trait common with ADHD, so I'm here to ask you all for your experiences. Thank you!
TLDR at end of post.
Hello all! For the past... while, I've struggled quite a lot with healthy oral hygiene, and hygiene as a whole for that matter. Now, with the rest of your hygiene, nothing is permanent unless you get sepsis, however, even with modern medical advancements, tooth decay is very important to prevent. Replacement teeth lack feeling, and as all the elders I have talked to have told me, it's something you deeply miss.
One of the greatest helps for me was to stop using an electric toothbrush. It has big sensory problems for me, namely with the vibrations, overall feeling in my mouth and hand, and the sound. God the sound was just unbearable. I never made the connection this was a hindrance until recently, but now that I've started using just a regular disposable toothbrush, it's been significantly easier. Get one of those cheap 6 packs of toothbrushes, and I think you might see great progress with how frequently you brush your teeth.
Additionally, my second advice would be to store your toothbrush by a sink which you regularly see, especially when not busy. For example, my toothbrush was formerly in the bathroom, downstairs, and I live upstairs, plus I have mobility issues, and I'm usually only in that bathroom when in a hurry, like getting ready for my occupation. In the kitchen though, it's been so much easier. For additional context if helpful, my house has an open kitchen plan. I hope this might also be able to help you.
TLDR: Disposable toothbrushes > electric toothbrushes, store your toothbrush in the food room as opposed to the secluded bathroom. ^(([Gross TW]: It's also much less of a struggle not storing your toothbrush in >!the bodily waste product room!<, especially when it's communal, and especially when said people >!don't wash their hands!<.))
I was trying to understand for a few days why you couldn't use absolute value in the context of wanting a "true perfect" function. Finally, it clicked, and I realized, oh, that's funny, vectors. It then finally made sense. My question is why vectors are not used to explain it, and if they would be good to help explain it, could these be implemented in future curricula to help others understand? Thanks! <3
For some further context, I'm only looking at online info, I'm still in first year HS (I really shouldn't even have graduated middle school, I'm incredibly underqualified haha). I appreciate your answers in advance.
^(Edit:)
Hello there. I see you all are treated terribly by your coworkers and parents, underfunded, underpaid, overworked, and in desperate need of a break. I'm going to be starting directed studies soon, post TBI and other disabilities. I did some digging around though I haven't seen a post quite like this one.
I wanted to ask what your main struggles were when dealing with students, as well as anything you'd prefer such that you have a little less to worry about. In my experience the type of people working in this department have been exceptionally nice, and in no way deserve this treatment. I was hoping to know how I could help out or just not contribute. I'd ask my teachers themselves but I worry that they wouldn't say it to my face, so, I ask here. For some context, I am in High School, 9th grade.
Thank you very much, and I wish you all an amazing day and some relief <3
I don't use ChatGPT all that much, and I've only used GPT image 2 twice. The two times I tried using it, both technical purposes, it was terrible at following instructions, and failed miserably. Try giving it a diffuse, normals, etc maps, and it will not be able to render an image. If you had a person do this type of work, they would be fired.
Hi there! I recently switched to Bitwarden. At the moment, I want to deduplicate entries, based off of which was updated most recently, as I merged from three different (now deleted) password managers. I've downloaded the json export and am going to write a little script to do this, then, of course, reimport the entries.
Before I do so though, I wanted to spare myself the effort, and check if anyone already has a solution, since this would eat up my whole day. Thank you all!
