Lorex camera internal settings.

I cant find it. Does anyone know of a document or anything, that describes all the settings and options, and what they mean when you access an IP camera directly via a web browser? (Or even via the NVR's direct monitor interface)

Docker or VM?

I've been struggling to get my frigate solid with one Lorex IP camera (before I add the other 3).

Running in docker on ugreen DXP2800 NAS with 16GB ram (I just ordered a 32GB stick). It will run fine for a day or so with no errors and UI is fine. Then I check the logs and there's a ton of errors. CPU use is over 50 and ram keeps creeping up.

I just read about running it in a VM could drastically help with utilizing the Intel N100 iGPU for better performance.

Any comments on running frigate in a VM vs docker?

I'm also running HomeAssistant in a VM but haven't linked it yet to frigate.

Thanks.

Ugos NAS notifications?

My DXP2800 is pretty darn reliable and have no issues. BUT, Is there a way to get an email or text alert if, for say, a VM, or docker container has shutdown, or is not running?

My HomeAssistant VM recently shutdown twice in the past couple of days. I think it was a VM RAM configuration issue and may have it fixed, but I'd really like to know if the VM is down.

When it went down several Automations did not run causing some issues, and my wife is having doubts about all the smart home stuff.

Once it came back it was past the time or event triggers causing me to go through everything and get them back to where they should be.

Thanks.

Frigate on N100 NAS issues

Ugreen DXP2800, 16 GB Ram, using M2 NVME drives for frigate. Spent the better part of 2 days with Gemini trying to get this to work with iGPU support, ended up having to go back to a basic setup with one Lorex IP camera because everything we tried just crashed Frigate. CPU useage high. I eventually want to add 3 more cameras. AI suggested a Coral TPU USB thing. But I saw in Frigate documentation the Coral TPU is no longer recommended.

What are my options? Or is my plan not achievable?

Partial SmartThings issue

I know I'm probably going to lose Smarthings in HA soon, but I just noticed my Sensi thermostat is unavailable via the Smarthing Integration. Samsung microwave and refrigerator are still showing up fine. The Sensi phone app is good, and the Sensi thermostat via HomeKit Integration is fine.

I've reloaded the SmartThings Integration a couple times then restarted HA, no change.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Doorbell RSSI Level, how to check

With a Lorex B862 doorbell, and Lorex Classic app, Android Ver 5.6.6, is there a way to check the WiFi RSSI level the doorbell is getting?

I can't find it anywhere in the app.

The doorbell is not connected to a Fusion NVR.

My Linksys router app indicates doesn't show RSSI and says it's connected via Ethernet, I assume that is because it may be connecting to an Ethernet hardwired mesh child node.

Thanks.

Bluetooth control issue

I've been dabbling and trying to educate myself with HA Bluetooth integrations.

Case in point: I have several Switchbot plugs and temperature sensors. I have them working via the Switchbot Cloud integration and Switchbot Bluetooth integration.

I have an Olimex ESP POE BT proxy with external antenna, an M5Stack ESP BT proxy, and a Shelly Pill the is reporting in the HA BT integrations. Device Advertisements are spread across all 3 proxies.

In an effort to not rely on cloud based integrations,

I was doing some testing today on a Switchbot plug.  Is seems as though while I can monitor the plug's entities, I cannot command a plug on or off via Bluetooth.  At first the proxies were passive, then I changed them to active and restarted HA. Still no joy, I cannot seem to command a plug's BT control entity ON via BT.

Is this the way it is? Or am I missing something?

Running HA in a VM, with HACS.

Thanks.

Family login to photos app remotely

Is it possible.....

I use Tailscale to access my Ugreen remotely when I want to use the Photos app (or anything else on the nas). I want to make is simple for my wife, and maybe family.

Is it possible to set up a one click scenario, where someone can click one button, app, or shortcut on their phone that will automatically login to Tailscale, then automatically login in to Ugreen and start the Photos app?

Been playing with Immich for a few weeks now and I like the Ugreen Photos app much better.

Battery Candle lights to HA

My wife has a number of candle/tea light like dodads around the house that I would like to automate in HA.

Most have battery compartment bases similar to the one pictured here.

Is there and ESP32 device, or something, small enough that I can retrofit this with a lithium rechargable battery and control via HA?

On/off control is all I would need, at this time. And I have never setup an ESP32 device from scratch, yet.

TV Shows Multiple Extras subfolders

Can I have multiple subfolders under TV shows for different kinds of extras, something like the following;

TV Shows
--- Series Name
------- Season 01
------------ S01E01 title
------------ S01E02 title
------------ Interviews
---------------- interview 1
---------------- interview 2
------------ Behind the scenes
---------------- scene 1
---------------- scene 2
------------ Featurettes
---------------- featurette 1
---------------- featurette 2
etc.

EDIT: Nevermind. Found the Jellyfin documentation that says yes I can.

Smartthings and HA reliability?

My HA SmartThings integration seems to loose accurate reporting of some Samsung fridge entities status.

I notice it at least every other day or so.

It's easily fixed by just reloading the Integration.

Why should I need to do that?

Could there be an issue on my end? If so what?

I will be setting up an automation to automatically reload the Integration on some schedule. How often is too often?

Cheers.

P.S. I'm getting a new Samsung over range microwave installed in a couple weeks that has WiFi, anyone have one and using HA with it?

USB Powered Zigbee repeater

I've setup my first Zigbee hub (Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus) and connected it to a Tuya Zigbee battery powered switch unit with 4 buttons. Everything works at my desk. I'm using the HA Zigbee integration, and am NOT using any Tuya software, apps, or integrations.

I'm having trouble locating small and unobtrusive USB powered Zigbee repeaters that I can just plug in to some power strips around the house that have USB power ports. Everything I see says it requires a Tuya Hub, which I don't have, will they still work?

And suggestions?

Thanks.

Help needed understanding BLE with HA

Can someone help me understand BLE Integrations?

My HA is running on a VM in a Ugreen NAS. I do not have any USB Bluetooth dongles (yet).

I installed an Olimex LTD, ESP32-POE-ISO-EA Bluetooth Proxy so I could move away from Cloud Integrations, and have it working, set to active scanning. It only shows 4/4 connections. Is that all this device can handle? I have a total of 14 Switchbot devices that are working via the Swicthbot Buetooth integration. Why if it can only handle 4 devices?

I also have a Shelly Pill with a single temperature sensor and it shows up as passive scanning with No Connection Slots.

When I look at the visualization map, I see the following;

Linked to the POE Proxy;

·       Green Dots - 4 SB devices.

·       Grey Dots - (unknown devices); 1 ihoment, 1 Linksys, and 1 MAC address.

Linked to Shelly Pill;

·       Green Dots; the other 10 SB devices

·       Grey Dots (unknown devices); 1 Govee, 2 Linksys, 1 MELK-OA10W, and several others with names I don't recognize and a whole bunch with just a MAC address.

The HA BT integration page shows; Online, 4/4 Connections. 2 Adapters, 4 Connections, 73 Advertisements (this number changes frequently).

I’ve tried Googling various questions on this but not getting far. Is it easy to explain what all this means or a tutorial somewhere that you can recommend?

 Thank you all kind people.
