I don't understand how people can consider Darius on the same skill level of Garen and Morde. While he's not highly mechanical like Yasuo or Ambessa let's say he's pretty difficult imo.

You can't just win mindlessy by pressing E AA W Q because that works only into some matchups.

Garen can just Q E W and he outtrades most chars on even even gold and the regens from passive.

Is it just because Darius is a noob stomper? But I though Garen, Morde, Sett and similars are also noobstompers...

I don't get the hate for Darius.

I think I figured out one of the things that makes this lane how it is right now.

I feel like most top mains never take accountability for how badly they're playing and they don't understand wincons in the game.

I've had many games where I had to play from behind and I used to scream to jgl or support to come and help because the MU favours me rather than them but with stats disadvantage you can't do much most of the time top.

I stopped doing this and when my jgl decides to play for another lane or another lane is doing well I will take the L and just go down in CS and minimize deaths, I can still be useful later on if I'm 0/2 rather than being 1/5 or something like that.

I feel like most toplaners don't understand that and try to just statcheck the other dude, cry if the lane is frozen and are just inadaptable about the situation they're in.

Walked into the middle bush Irelia vs Darius lvl1? Lost half HP and now Irelia has to sit and wait and can't have pressure? No better Q in and die to Darius to complain to jgl.

It's an example but you should get the gist.

I just had a Garen matchup, I ended up winning but I felt like it was way harder to dominate this MU if ahead, especially in sidelane.

It happened a few times that I engaged, hit first barrel combo and then he just Q and sprinted me down.

What's the catch? I thought maybe putting down a barrel on you rather than him would work but if you don't have 4 barrels then he runs away.

After a series of unfortunate lose streaks I dropped down so much so quickly.

I tried playing jungle, mid, support, adc even to get out of "loserQ" but nothing really worked so I went back to top.

I started playing GP, I used to main him a long time ago and I still have the stuff for barrels.
I started winning my lanes, losing lanes sometimes but coming back, just laid back and chill GP stuff.

Got him on a 72% WR over 31 games so I'm not complaining.
My account MMR is cooked, I gain 18/19 lose 21 up to 23 since I went from 51% wr to 49%.

But the point of this is that I found a champ that I'm enjoying even though top is really miserable right now, most importantly, a champ that is very strong atm (dunno if it's me but GP seems REALLY good right now).

I've seen so many trashtalking and I kind of get it (GP is frustrating to play against I know), I used to do that because top makes me genuinely salty and worse than salty, toxic, when the situation is really bad.

I just started typing "u = ass" after the first time I solo the laner, once every game and I just get a laugh out of it and I see a lot of people getting mad to it. (On a side note, is that a bannable offense? "u = ass"? Saw Solarbacca type it in a recent video found it funny and stole it)
I really don't care because I found something fun to do while playing this role and I think it's not too offensive for league's standards...

Tell me your ways to cope with lane, maybe what champ you've been enjoying lately for the climb or even for the fun of it.

This is a rant.

I just finished playing a game where I have to pick from blue side (so blind pick) and I lock in Jayce. Enemy top is Anivia. I managed to pop her egg, her flash, maker her burn TP and then what happens? I missplay and I get solo killed because she has a blasting wand. Before that I called my jungler for 5 minutes, saying NO EGG, NO FLASH. He just ignored me and went bot to die, twice. I'm so done with this lane it's unbearable. Some matchups are so fucked up to play, most blind picks sucks nowadays because they can just lock in a scaling mage that dominates lane. What is there really to blind pick that is safe? Rumble? Jayce (he needs like 100 games to be played correctly)? Ornn (sucks in soloQ cuz tank)? Sion? Every blind pick that feels somewhat good is hard countered by either Vayne or a scaling mage. Not even Aatrox is that good anymore.

The items suck as well, gold inefficent, expensive and lackluster in some cases.
The quest sucks, because now everybody can run ignite and the few champs that can't (like Darius that I play) are even more screwed. The quest reward feels like a joke, if you reach lvl20 then there's a huge problem and you're just low elo because games shouldn't last so long you reach lvl20.

In the meantime smite is still one of the strongest summoner spells, why does it have to slow AND damage you for your HP? Like legit why is the jgl quest so strong.

Why AP mages get the best items in the game, why do they still have rocketbelt but strider doesn't have a dash anymore, why do they get midquest with the most broken boots in the game that even Riven wants to go mid just for those.

I feel like there's little to no reason to play this role above Diamond 4 because it has the lowest impact, it has the strictest lane in terms of mistakes you can make, it has the shittiest matchups and it can be completely decided by either jungle or support if they so decide to play with wave states.

Playing top makes me also feel so annoyed towards junglers because half of the time they don't understand that toplane can be a wincon as well, especially if you play chars like Camille into a squishy high mobility comp, but Jungler ignore sistematically toplane because it has the weaker objectives, or at least the objectives that are "harder to use" like herald or grubs. Drakes giving just straight up stats will always make them more appealing than grubs or herald.

I feel like I can only enjoy this role when I can pick from redside and even then if I counter my laner I will get camped or dove, or ignored if I try to make a call.

I tried midlane a while back and it was way more enjoyable, less punishing more chill and more rewarding, playing even something like TF feels better than playing a fed Darius or Camille.

I used to play top just because I liked the champions that went there, but now I keep seeing Vayne, Viktor, Anivia, Heim and it's just insufferable.

The rare times I see a melee matchup it's something like Olaf or Yorick or Garen, just statcheck champs that also only benefit because they can take ignite and ignore having to take TP.

I don't know, I really hope that some good changes come to top, (UNLIKE MORDE CHANGES) because the lane feels even worse than when I used to play back before mythics, back after mythics and back in s12.

Maybe some of you may have some advice on how to deal with this shit, I can't stand it anymore.

EDIT1: Since the attention span of the average zoomer is 1 sentence or 1 line. MY MAINS ARE DARIUS, AATROX AND CAMILLE, I PLAY JAYCE TO LEARN AND PLAY FROM BLUE SIDE. I TIRED ZAAHEN EARLIER THIS SPLIT BUT FEELS LIKE A LOONEY TOON CHAMP WITHOUT PERSONALITY.

Ho voluto postare perché ho visto un altro post simile che mi ha fatto riflettere. In occasione ho pensato che potrebbe essere utile condividere la mia esperienza con tutte e tutti e in più vorrei sentire come altre persone la pensano.

Premetto che ho 28 anni e videogioco da tutta la mia vita. Sono cambiato molto nel mio percorso però mi sono ritrovato obbligato a tagliare ponti con amici e conoscenti perché le nostre visioni erano ormai troppo differenti. In due parole avevo amici che erano misogini e sostenevano di non esserlo.

Seguendo le ultime notizie (e il post che ho visto), ho parlato con amici e la reazione è più o meno sempre la stessa, parlando del nuovo gioco di GoW e anche di The Witcher.

Ammetto che purtroppo io ero uno di quelli che evitava di giocare a giochi con MC femminili. Io gioco da quando sono bambino, mio nonno mi regalò la ps2 quando avevo 9 anni circa e se vai a vedere la maggior parte dei giochi di quel periodo (inizio 2000/metà 2000) quasi tutti, se non tutti, gli MC sono dei maschi. Maschi cazzuti, maschi pelati, maschi pelosi ecc. ecc. Penso solamente in RE1 puoi giocare come Jill come esempio che mi viene su due piedi di quel periodo.

Questo fenomeno mi ricordo che venne combattuto in maniera mainstream per la prima volta con Mass Effect che con Shepherd s'intendeva una persona quindi il capitano o la capitana, però chiaramente in copertina ci stava Shepherd maschio pelato e figo. Adesso questo trend del MC maschio sta venendo sempre più messo a confronto. Chiaramente gli uomini che non capiscono o ancora peggio, capiscono ma negano della esistenza di una struttura patriarcale e misogina nell'industria dei videogame, chiaramente questo li porta ad essere arrabbiati perché il loro maschio alfa preferito con cui fanno self insertion non c'è più (per un titolo su chissà quanti).

Questa reazione penso sia un risultato in generale della società patriarcale, secondo come nel mio esempio tanti miei coetanei sono cresciuti con questi modelli patriarcali, dove giocare ai videogiochi era roba ancora da maschietti.

Io quando parlo coi miei coetanei e ne saltano fuori con questi discorsi misogini non so bene come rispondere perché non riesco a farli capire quanto sia problematico arrabbiarsi così tanto perché adesso non giocherai come Kratos ma Laufey. Lo stesso accadde con LoU2 o con Ghost of Yōtei. Io cerco anche di fare attenzione ai "gooner games" tipo Stellar Blade e a suo tempo Nier:automata. Smisi di giocare a Nier perché la telecamera in automatico pannava per puntare sotto la gonna di 2B che oltre ad essere oscena come cosa peggiorava il gameplay nella sezioni di esplorazione (e in maniera generale non mi piacque così tanto a livello di gameplay ma quelli son gusti).

Voglio ribadire che io non sono contrario e non odio la visione di questi MC maschi, ho giocato a tutti i GoW e Arthur Morgan è uno dei miei MC preferiti.

Guardando il lato positivo, ci sono molti più giochi adesso dove una MC donna è carismatica, cazzuta, fragile ed è una persona invece che una sex doll. Bayonetta è un esempio anche se tende ad attrarre per via di come l'hanno esposta e come si comporta. Forse Horizon è l'esempio migliore che abbiamo per adesso.

è difficile stare certe volte in VC con persone che conosco (amici di una vita certe volte) e salta sempre fuori sto discorso demmerda.

Vorrei sentire le opinioni che avete o le esperienze che avete vissuto. Also non voglio entrare nel discorso dei multiplayer perché è una bestia a se e sarebbe un discorso sì che c'entra con quello di cui voglio discutere ma andrebbe trattato con un discorso apposito.

EDIT: Ho visto menzionato Lara Croft diverse volte, penso sia l'esempio peggiore che si potesse utilizzare per parlare di questo discorso. È un personaggio difficile da inquadrare visto che è andato sotto diverse trasformazioni durante gli anni, da 3 poligoni a quella che conosciamo oggi. Però vorrei far notare che il suo design nei tempi in cui è diventata mainstream come personaggio era quello di una sex bomb, tant'è che pure Angiolina Jolie (sex simbol del tempo) è stata casta per il film. Ora io non voglia buttare merda sulla saga di Croft ma non penso sia un buon esempio, anzi prova ancor di più che sia è stati indottrinati a piacere la MC sexy senza personalità e cazzuta e appena c'è ne una che non ha decolté o che sembra una VERA donna c'è polemica. In più il discorso del gender swap di Lara non verrebbe sicuramente percepito così male come la saga di GoW (apparte che abbiamo già la controparte con Uncharted).

EDIT2: Forse ho sbagliato a scegliere GoW e Witcher come esempi perché vedo in tanti che mancano il punto del perché ho scelto questi giochi, in particolare GoW. Io sono stato introdotto con GoW 2 ed è un gioco super violento (nulla contro questa cosa) e sinceramente la storia non era assai importante quanto quella dei GoW moderni (di gran lunga il gameplay era il fulcro delle vendite). È palese che tanti gamer sono arrabbiati non perché non possono giocare come Kratos ma perché devono giocare come una donna, perché per loro, ed è qui che entra in gioco il discorso patriarcale, essere una donna vuol dire essere di meno.

EDIT3: La questione di preferenza non è un discorso da fare, è lecito e leggittimo che si abbia preferenze sul tipo di iter che si preferisce giocare come MC. Tuttavia non bisogna ingannarsi che ha delle basi misogine affermare che non si gioca mai a giochi con MC femminili per motivi x e y. È un discorso simile sul quale si può fare un esempio del tipo (con un altro argomento che è a cuore a tutti) "usciresti con un* person* di colore? No" che è si preferenza, ma razzista intrinsicamente.

EDIT4: Vi dico un esempio di gioco inclusivo o "woke" di merda e uno che penso sia fatto bene: Concord, gioco di merda. Mass Effect, il peak. Entrambi sono inclusivi in diversi aspetti ma quando la inclusività diventa il biglietto da visita nemmeno a me piace, non è chiaramente il caso di GoW o The Witcher. Giusto per mettere in chiaro le mie idee e posizioni su questo argomento.

EDIT5: Visto che non ci è voluto tanto per certi individui ad arrivare ed insultarmi, cosa che mi aspettavo, e visto che ormai l'argomento è degenerato e la dinamica ormai è "se non ti piacciono i culi sono problemi tuoi", "ma se non mi piace giocare PG femmina non sono misogino" ed infine "la gente è arrabbiata perché vuole giocare kratos non per motivo x e y" eviterò di rispondere a queste fesserie. Ho ribadito diverse volte che il problema che voglio esporre non è che avete i vostri gusti, è che quando un personaggio FEMMINA che non è IPERSESSUALIZZATO prende il posto di un MC MASCHIO o addirittura ha un ip proprio la prima reazione è puntare dito, dare del "woke", criticare ed insultare i dev e infine insultare le donne. Questo è stato visto tantissime volte e si continua a ripetere. In più che questo comportamento (come tanti altri comportamenti problematici) nascono dal patriarcato. L'industria del gaming è stata sempre maschilista e adesso sta cambiando (e si vede). Io mi sono divertito TANTO da bambino con giochi come GoW, Jak&Daxter, Sly, Spyro, Crash, Tekken e tanti altri, tutti giochi di cui ero il target incosapevolmente e ha plasmato la mia visione della realtà, questo non vuol dire che questi giochi non debbano esistere. Chissà perché la stessa reazione (riguardo Laufey) ci fu con Intergalactic et simili. Non sono di certo qui a cercare di educare un gruppo di uomini che sostengono ancora che queste cose non esistono e che non sono perpetrate nel tempo da decenni ormai.
