Scored an A6000 + kit lens for $250 CAD — feeling pretty lucky 🍀

Recently, I scored this A6000 with the 16–50mm kit lens from a thrift store for $250 CAD.
It’s my 5th camera, so I probably need to stop buying more. 😂

Honestly, I’m surprised by how good the image quality still is. It’s super lightweight and easy to carry around. I’ve also noticed the blues look a bit deeper compared to my A6600, although that might just be different color rendering between the two bodies.

The only other thing I noticed is the mode dial is a bit stiffer than on my A6600. Not sure if that’s just normal for the A6000 or specific to this unit, but it doesn’t affect usability—just a small quirk.

For an older APS-C camera, it still holds up really well.

Edit: one thing I forgot to mention is that, for some reason, this thing had less than 2k shutter counts.

I wondered if the owner forgot it in a drawer and found it a decade later.

Got an extra 50GB of data with no extra charges

Just received a message from Telus, how generous of them! However, I’m not sure if there’s a catch.

Last year, I transferred two mobile plans and an internet plan from Rogers and Fido to Telus. I was paying around $100 total for Fido for the two lines. One line had a better deal: 60GB for less than $40 per month, and the other had 50GB for around $50 per month.

During the holiday deal, I switched to a 100GB/35 dollar plan. I also noticed that the data is shared between the two lines, which I don’t think was the case when I was using Fido.

I have too much data now😅
