Firs time doing a mosaic crochet piece. Any advice on what to do with the ends and also how to prevent curling? Thanks!

I was curious if anyone knows why I cannot equip this shadow spell? I am level 101 and have completed the malistaire dungeon so I have the normal Abominable Weaver spell and also the shadow sentinel spell.

Im just learning how to knit and learned how to do the stokinette stitch. Is it normal for the edge to curl inwards or is my tension a problem?
