Hope/grief after losing my tegu a year and a half ago

I lost my baby a little over a year and half ago. He escaped my backyard boarding a golf course. There are still days I cry myself to sleep and nights I dream about finding him. There is nothing anybody could say that I haven’t told myself. How could I be so stupid and lose my best friend. Years of memories gone. We would’ve had so much more time together. Has anybody found their lost pet after so long? I’m having one of those days.
