I have difficulty understanding Matthew 11:12
Matthew 11:12 states:
English translation: "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force".
Does that mean the violent people are able to take, seize and enter the kingdom of heaven by force?
All explanations will be appreciated.
Update: I just realized that the English translation above was the ESV version of which the KJV and NKJV and NASV also mention that "the violent take it by force".
Other English translations are as follows:
The NIV version: "From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it."
NLT version: "And from the time John the Baptist began preaching until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people are attacking it."
BSB version: "From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it."
