[EU] Questions about market 18/08/2026 -> 19/08/2026

Noob goblin here. Something sort of clicked for me yesterday and I was able to get on the protein/pork thing early, but I completely didn't expect fish to go up so much. I'd like to learn from this so my questions are:

  1. What caused the massive increase?
  2. How did some people predict this increase ahead of others?
  3. What to look out for in similar situations in the future?

Any additional information/advice is very welcome as well - I'm keen to learn but as a new player (maybe 4/5 months played in total, started in TWW), catching up on ~20 years of lore, information, tooling etc. has been overwhelming (though it has been really fun too).

What makes Warcraft 3 special?

I've been casually playing Warcraft III on-and-off since I can remember, and I've decided to make my own RTS inspired by WC3 for a game jam, potentially making it into a full thing if it goes well.

I was watching a Grubby video a while back about how to trap enemies with 4 of your units, and that it only works in a plus formation because of square colliders. It got me thinking: how many other cool details like that does that game have, that I've never noticed or thought about? And something I still can't entirely figure out - why I loved the game so much even though I didn't really like any other RTS?

So I came here to ask more experienced and knowledgeable players:

What makes the game special for you? What is something that many people don't know (either technical, design or anything really) that you think is really cool?

Runecarver + Statikk Shiv doesn't work

Title. I was playing Karthus with runecarver and thought statikk shiv would be a good idea, so I took it.... 0 procs or damage for ~3 rounds in a row. Later I got double-tap thinking it would fix it - wrong. It started proccing the statikk shiv separately, not proccing runecarver at all and I was stacking runecarver at the same speed. Tried volcatic cyclosword later (still hopeful) and it also made no difference.

At this point why even say they all do "energised" rather than just giving them separate passives entirely, if they don't work together?
