I mean. They're not wrong.
There's a few videos floating around of people in Korea demoing the new N Performance Sound Pack, if you notice all of the demos are done with the vehicle parked and not moving but the vehicle was put into some sort of mode where you could "accelerate" through all of the gears as if you were actually driving down the road. Basically as if you were in a sim-rig for you PC or console.
At first I thought it was specific to that demo vehicle but then other videos started popping up of other people demoing it in repair shops and the like, which makes me think that first demo car wasn't a one-off.
There seems to be a way to put the car into a mode where you can "drive" it without actually going anywhere.
Does anyone know how to engage that mode?
Is it a secret konami-like code like when engaging DRIFT mode in the EV6 GT, or does it require a scantool to turn it on?
The return website prompts you to give a reason for return, but you can only select from a few options and none of them are relavent at all. So here is why. Maybe if I am lucky the team will read this and improve future devices.
It cant stay open. I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL with a dbrand ghost case. I deploy the keyboard and start to type....only to have the keyboard close on my thumbs. The ratchet lock is too easy to disengage. "The phone is too heavy!" One might say. Well lets be honest here. They chose to develop the PK over clicks cases for XL phones. XL phones are the number 1 use case as a result....it should work with them.
It gives off the feeling that it has doubled the weight of my phone. The tendons in my index fingers and pinky are screaming. I honestly am worried about extended use and hurting myself over the long term.
Its trying to do too much and is too bulky as a result. I don't need a gigantic battery in the unit. Take the battery out. Slim the device down. And I know it's a double edged sword. The unit has to have weight because if it didn't the phone would be too heavy and pitch backwards. But I cant hold something this big without the finger pain starting.
It triggers me every time I push upwards to deploy it and my phone rotates slightly and is crooked by a degree or two. I guess that is a result of not having the vertical keying magnet, but it drives me nuts and I find myself trying to straighten the phone before I type, and getting aggravated because it's never perfect. Is that a tiny nitpick? Yes. But it bothers me.
No touch input on the buttons. I like to scroll left and right on my Gboard spacebar. I didn't realize how annoying it was to not have that. Is that a blackberry patent? Why doesn't clicks have touch sensitive buttons (or a trackball?)
I do think clicks is a great idea. If I had a flip device I would already have the case. But the power keyboard has too many compromises for me to keep it.
That is why I am returning it.
Thanks for reading.
PS Please don't dogpile.
Stock. 4800miles. N Mode, Drag Mode, Launch Control set to High Grip. Outside temp mid 80s low 90s, decently high humidity. Tire pressure 38psi, lowering it to 32psi for the last 2 runs made no difference.
I need that 10.99. Maybe light weight wheels. Maybe I'll gut the interior. Maybe I'll get PZero R tires off a Taycan Turbo GT. Maybe I will pray for a strong tailwind. We will see. I drag race once a year.
Hey everyone, The review is now live. The ADP Low Speed Unlock Box enables the exhaust speaker to work all the time, rather than only over 30mph. People have been hungering for this thing and it's finally for sale in North America at an English speaking shop with no import duties required.
I made the review and tested the device and will handle tier 1 support for it (testing also done with 2 other N owners in other parts of the US, shout out to iconiq5n and cgmgd7 on Instagram), and The Ioniq Guy is handling the the importing logistics and selling.
If anyone wants to toss me a couple bucks for coffee, you can buy it with my referral link, but if you buy through YouTube or any other links THATS OKAY TOO! I am just really happy to have helped bring this thing to English speaking markets in a low-hassle way.

A great turnout over at the aerospace museum. This is real car culture.
Abyss Black Pearl w/ XPEL Stealth Stain PPF and XPEL Fusion Ultimate Ceramic on top.
It's surprisingly easy, the wheel comes fully built, nothing to swap over except the airbag
.....and if you look really closely at the end, you can see the exact moment when I put a crease into the airbag. Don't press too hard when reinstalling it.
Check out photo #2! Look at that weave.
Is the title misleading? Sort of. 😉 But I'm not wrong. The OEM 5N exhaust (speaker) is (a) carbon fiber (cone)!
After posting about my switch from the GT to the N, many people had questions and wanted to know what the driving experience was like. I promised to make a YouTube video about it. That video is now live. Enjoy!! (and Like and Sub and all that if you're able, I am really close to the metrics for the partner program)
What BS. I saw someone else complain of this too. Off to the dealer I go, I guess. The car is brand new. They better freaking cover it.
The creator of the device in Korea and I have confirmed that the Unlock Box does work on US Spec vehicles. The external speaker becomes fully active when the vehicle is in "N" mode or "Sport+" mode while in Custom1/2. This mod also works with the 6N.
I am currently working with The Ioniq Guy to get hassle-free stateside sales of the device in the coming weeks.
I am working on a review of the device as well as an English installation video. If you know what you're doing, its less than 30 minutes from start to finish to put it in. No errors on the screen, it just works.
I will share the review and the link to purchase when it's ready for sale.
