Rio Morales will die (almost certain)

Was looking over some theories online about how in this franchise Miles and Gwen are linked in ways that won't be fully explained until Beyond The Spiderverse releases. Have Also seen some well formulated theories on how their universes will collide based upon imagery in both films (Into and Across).

Miles's statement "we're the same...in the important ways" always stuck out to me when comparing the characters.

Gwen Stacy's mother is Helen Stacy (née Vogel) in the main Marvel Comics continuity (Earth-616). In these comics, Helen dies from cancer early in Gwen's childhood, leaving her to be raised by her father, Captain George Stacy.

In the Spider-Gwen comics (Earth-65), her mother's maiden name is Helen Carmichael. Depending on the universe, her fate shifts; in some Ultimate Comics, she abandons the family, while In The Spider-Verse movies, she is also presumed to have passed away or been absent early on.

Depending upon whether or not this is confirmed Both Gwen and Miles having Mothers who've passed and Father's who are/were police captains seems like an obvious route for the writers to take.

Beyond The Spiderverse is confirmed to be saddest of the trilogy which makes Loss a given, Miles's mother passing would be the unexpected curveball to the audience worrying about Jeff's mortality. Miles's struggle to grieve with the loss of his mother may be partly relieved through his partner (Gwen) having gone through the same thing when she was younger, which has yet to covered in this franchise.

Maybe it's a long shot based upon too many potentials. But just a theory from me.

Cool Story idea for a future update.

Was thinking of new story ideas that would develop upon the base narrative given to us players and expand upon it in interesting ways.

Fellow poster on this forum mentioned factions which gave me some ideas.

The Rogue Hunter Update.

Ever since the portals opened on Earth Luna, Manny and Jax were far from the only ones who organised teams and created weapons and tech to combat the portals. Other more morally ambiguous and shadowy factions of hunters arose who have more selfish goals as it relates to choas energy and cores. They're referred to as the Rogue Hunters. Powerful but secretive factions of Hunters that operate and play by their own rules answering to no one but themselves.

(Real world inspiration KGB of Russia, CIA / FBI of America etc.)

They've created their own more sophisticated weapons and tech using the same core / chaos energy Manny has used and begin to Appear in the Expeditions and events We the Players frequent.

They'll act as antagonists who at first Hunt Monsters (far more effectively and visibly) in the same expeditions as us then slowly turn against our faction (Luna, Manny and Jax) as a conflict of interests develops.

"Conflict of interests" ideas

They torture and abuse non combative monsters and creatures to get information out of them and understand their language using their own communication devices. So they're understanding of the Portals, Monsters and chaos energy is far more developed and advanced then our Factions but only via immoral practices.

Manny someway into the story hacks one of their databases giving him access to a wealth of their data on the weapons and tech they use and their info on chaos energy and portals. Which causes him to replicate some of their tech giving us new weapons and abilities.

GAMEPLAY

We get new more long form 4 to 8 players rifts based around this developing story where end bosses will be a mixture of

  1. Key members of these corrupt factions with advanced weaponry and tech

  2. Choas Monsters who have mutated due to heavy experimental practices from the corrupt factions.

  3. Lower level corrupt faction members who may or may not defect and join our side after battle.

This Update would be a perfect opportunity to introduce Skill Trees for Our Weapons as Manny's knowledge and understanding of tech and chaos cores develops his understanding of the weapons do also Causing our weapons to unlock skill trees where we can upgrade the effectiveness of abilities in our current loadout for each weapon, Add new abilities to our loadout by switching them out with older existing ones and Lastly minor stat boosts that are only in effect when using the specific weapon that has been upgraded.

Apologies this idea / concept is very bare bones and mainly focuses in on adding an interesting and engaging narrative to the story alongside developing gameplay mechanics and power progression.

Day One

In the Books.

Favourite weapon soo far is a tie between techno fists (versatility/jack of all trades) and the Head Banger (Very Good once you learn how to use it).
