My collection is COMPLETE 🐯🐺🦍🐻🪶👽

I started buying them on June 5th, and the last book arrived in the mail today!

I plan to get some of the Taco Bell toys to put on top of the shelf with my faux morphing cube. I also want to get a few prints from Mattingly's Etsy store, but I've gotta decide which ones I want first. There's so many covers I'd like to have as prints.

P.S. I know Alternamorphs is missing. I don't really care about owning those at all. If I see them for really cheap one day, I might pick them up, but I'm not spending $30 for both of them right now LOL

Scans of vending machine stickers from Pizza Hut

Saw these in a post a couple weeks ago, and liked them so much I bought a set myself! And I'd never seen any of this art anywhere else, so I decided to scan and upload them. Enjoy and use the PNGs for whatever you want!

I tried my best with the Marco and change your world ones to stay as close to the original sticker's white borders as possible

Things I found inside my secondhand copies of Animorphs

Most of my copies came from different eBay sellers, so it'd be different households.

I think my favorite is the envelope. The blue sticker is a heart, so it was probably a valentine. Michael keeping the envelope hidden away in one of his books is so funny and cute to me. Makes me wonder where the valentine itself is.

#47 is rough but I appreciate how Mattingly captured the dead look that Jake has by this point in the plot

There is no light left in his eyes. His smile and optimism: GONE

The 2011 relaunch models are comically ill-fitting

No hate to any of the models, of course, cause they're just here for a paycheck.

Anyone wanna take a guess at who the guy on the end is?

Ax? Tobias, maybe?

Noooope.

>!It's the Marco model they ended up not using on the final cover, due to whitewashing.!<

ID cards made by Antioch

Some interesting things to note:

- They say that Ax is two and a half with absolutely no evidence to support it. They're just making shit up

- VITAL STATS: CAUCASIAN

- The parent names are from Anitv, not the books, since IIRC the parents don't get named in the books until close to the end. But Marco's mother is given the name "Laura" here and I don't remember her name ever being mentioned in the show. I might have missed it, cause Seerowpedia has that as her name. But idk. Maybe it's in the credits

- The only exception to the family names thing is Rachel. Her parents' names are Naomi and Dan in both the books and the show, but Jordan doesn't exist in the show, only Sara. So she gets her book family on her card I guess

- Attitude: Whatever

- I keep noticing places where Ax isn't treated as a full, original Animorph. on these cards, he doesn't get a big fancy name card like everyone else, and in the meet the cast book, he's listed as "the Animorphs' greatest ally". HE IS AN ANIMORPH??? I read somewhere that it's because the Schoolastic marketing department thought that Animorphs means a human that can morph, specifically, but that's really dumb

- Features Jake and Rachel morph sequences that, as far as I know, are otherwise only in flipbook page corners of #1 and #2

Snagged the blue/Cassie variant of MM2 🦖

I'd love to get the purple and pink ones one day, but these variants don't show up super often! I'm just happy I managed to find this one.

My overall collection is almost done, too. The only ones I have left now are 44, 47, 51, and 53 (AKA the expensive ones).

Has anyone ripped the Springfield map yet?

I have a silly little project I'd like to do where I take a census of Springfield Island, sort of like AnyAustin's videos about towns in Skyrim. I wanna count residential homes, businesses, analyze exports, etc. This would be fun in any map, but Springfield Island specifically is modeled after an existing fictional town, and has a lot more residential buildings than normal Fortnite maps.

Even if the map returns in the future, this will be a pretty difficult thing to accomplish while also trying to focus on keeping myself alive. I wanna be able to take my time and write notes.

So I'm wondering if anyone has ripped this map yet for exploration purposes. Maybe in a roleplay server or something? I've seen people offering to do custom maps for people, but that seems to be on a one time basis, and I'd hate to bother someone by making them run a Fortnite server just for me to run around and take notes on buildings.

Rachel and Marco: fake fight in #38 vs real fight in #41

I think it's super interesting that, when they're pretending to be at each other's throats, Marco provokes her by slapping her, and Rachel physically attacks him in response. They make contact/touch each other multiple times. It's a pretty funny moment with the knowledge that it's faked.

But in The Familiar, when they're actually pissed at each other and fighting, they very much make a point to not lay hands on each other. They take their frustration out on the environment instead, kicking, hitting, and throwing nearby objects.

It's a compelling contrast. It's like they know if they start a physical fight, it'll go too far. None of the core six Animorphs ever actually trade blows, at least as far as I can remember. But I noticed this parallel with Rachel and Marco specifically both because these books are close together, and because they're the two most stubborn, argumentative, opinionated, ruthless members of the group. I love picking apart how they interact as a duo.

Tom, on Rachel (ficlet)

A sequel to Rachel, on Tom from his POV on the blade ship. Inspired by @bamurien's comment!

-

Rachel. He'd sent Rachel.

Smart kid, my brother was. Rachel was the only one that would understand what had to happen. She'd understand what she needed to do. She'd always been the most blunt and practical one at the kid's table, after all. 'Tough' was the only kind of love she knew.

I was proud of both of them, in a way. My only regret is that I never got to thank them, never got to ruffle their hair and call them names for the last time. (I couldn't regret my helplessness. If I did, I'd have driven myself mad a long time ago.)

Iniss 335 never paid much mind to Rachel at family gatherings, so she looked older than I remembered. The weight of the world was visible on her shoulders, and she carried it like pauldrons. I didn't want to think about how she got that way.

I had been keeping all my strength in reserve, concealing my intentions from my captor, saving it for a moment when it really mattered. And this mattered. I'd help my cousin in the only way I could.

Rachel lunged, her jaws snapping an inch from cobra muscle. The long, cylindrical body twisted to dodge her. The sensation was distant and strange. Iniss was piloting a body I'd never known, and all I could do was watch. And feel.

The battle surged. She defended herself with unsettling ease. I waited with practiced patience. Then -- a chance! She was close, and he was about to dodge again, but--

Now!

I used all my willpower to try and wrest control of the body. I couldn't do it, of course. Iniss was experienced with unruly hosts, and I didn't know how to work this thing, anyway.

But it was a distraction. A moment's lapse in his total, utter control of me.

Just enough.

Grizzly fangs pierced our skin, nearly cleaving us in two. The pain was blinding. The injury was fatal.

In my final moments, I heard the Yeerk wail in silent rage and agony. Then, I exhaled.

Rachel and Marco in #42

Loooove their friendship. This book is underrated IMO. Then again, I'm willing to defend just about any Animorphs book, even the "bad" ones.

Been a teller for nearly 6 1/2 years. Planning to leave ASAP before I lose my mind.

We recently got a whole new system, and I think it's the straw that broke the camel's back. If that was the only issue I was having, I could tough it out no problem, but it's making everything else so much worse.

The parts of the job I already hated (but tolerated) are becoming intolerable. The rude, entitled customers. Hearing the door bell ring and feeling my blood pressure rise. Constantly being belittled by my boss who has the higher ups wrapped around her finger. Add all this to trying to deal with a new way of doing things, and my brain totally broke.

I can't even enjoy my weekends. There's a dread that has been sitting in my chest 24/7 since the swap, and no matter how hard I try, I can't focus on anything but how much I don't want to go back to work here. I've cried multiple times over the past few weeks, and I'm not a crier.

So, as soon as I can pass a drug test (just cause I take legal THC a couple times a week), I'm getting the hell out of dodge.

What do you think my chances are at landing a job doing bookkeeping, accounting, office work, etc? I'm not doing customer service again. I served my time and then some. I just want to find somewhere where I can become the immovable autistic cog in the office (not a joke, I really am autistic) and be able to keep my peace and just do forms and such. That's my happy place. I might be open to doing something back office for this same bank, but how stressful are those jobs? I'm kinda hesitant to look into them.

I'm worrying myself sick thinking that I won't be able to find anywhere good, but I'm also in a pretty bad headspace, so I guess I'm looking for some reassurance that I'm not making a terrible mistake, and that I can make it for the rest of my remaining time at this branch, however long that is (hopefully not more than another month or two). Cause it feels dire right now.

P.S. I'm doing everything I can for my mental health right now. Breathing exercises, guided meditation at home, weekly therapy. It's just a whole lot of stress and uncertainty.

My childhood vests

Girl Scouts was a big part of my life for a long time. I was homeschooled, so it was one of the ways I was able to be social with other kids that wasn't connected to co-ops/field trips. Plus, my mom was the troop leader, so I enjoyed doing that with her.

When we finally bridged to Cadette, none of the other girls wanted to keep doing it, so I begrudgingly quit. Being in a solo troop wasn't something I wanted to do, but I was still pretty torn up about it. It was the end of an era for sure.

I've considered becoming a volunteer or leading a troop of my own now that I'm grown up, but I'm disabled and have to work a full time job, so I don't think I'd have the spoons. But the memories I have of being a scout are ones I'll treasure for the rest of my life.
