Tell me all about your center

Only after getting into the job did I realize every place is different. Some are a one dept agency dispatch, some do it all, some just take the calls etc. I am so so so curious how your center works and what you do. It seems like theres no universal operariom for dispatchers

How many people on your shift

How many hours

What do you dispatch (one specific agency, multiple agencies, ems, law, fire etc...)

^how do you communicate to other agencies, departments if you only dispatch for one (just fire, just ems, just law, just one ifre agency, just one law agency etc)

How does your shift family get along with other shifts

How do you get along with those you dispatch to (ems, law....)

April vs june. Is the line in the tail nornal? What caused it?

Im trying to point out the verticle line specifically on the tailfin. Its obviously all new growth since I brought it home, but wht wouldn't the tail continue to grow normally and blend in? Was the pet store conditions that bad?

What happened on your deliberations? Hung jury?

I wana hear all the tea about what actually goes on in deliberation when someone whole future of life is on the line....

I wana hear the most stubborn story of a hung jury or those who would not switch sides....

Give it all

Short term menory, not so much radio ear

I can understand units just fine most of the time, that will improve without a doubt.... but how did you teach yourself to comprehend and react to the information over the radio or phone? My biggest struggle is hearing a unit or caller, understanding what they said, knowing what to do, but when actually typing my brain fogs and my fingers dont react. Its not out of nervousness, I just feel fucking stupid with short term memory.

Never worked night shift, pretty sure im fucked.

Ive got 3 days to adjust my day cycle to night shift (7p-7a). Ive got three 7-7shifts, then on the third day- go home for 4 hours and come right back for two 2p-2a shifts.

How do yall do it all night everynight let alone something crazy like this? Whats some foods you eat or make that wont make you feel worse?

THD exit survey

Does the THD exit surgery go to anyone in the store or someone higher? Is this surgery truly anonymous?

1.5 months into the 1.5mg oral tablets...

How do you get the protein you need??? I cannot find a way to eat enough protein each day.

I also notice that I have been nauseous at night pretty bad whenever my partner and I begin to "mess around" any stomach jostling sends me into full nausea/heavy salivating/soft stool mood for a few hours. Completley gone by morning. Gone this whole time no symptoms or problems then this week the nausea came on at night.

Im thinking its caused by havving (too much) sugar that day, and possibly related to not enough protein.

Yes, i KNOW everywhere is different

yes, I KNOW it's done differently everywhere

But im sure there are some common gronds of all the tips and tricks you can share while getting through training. Whether its for staying upp all they then up all night.

What was the hardest part

What did you HAVE to know and memorize for your department?

Where there any absolutely DONTs or always DOs that were in your facility?

Thanks in advance- Nervous but very excited to join your world

Its spring time, the garden is booming. Sidekick has to be done in the morning, plants have to be moved, department had to be cleaned up from the night before, phone rining off the hook, customers are helpless, and there one ither associate with you... then management asks for help w a few tasks, store manager gives a few tasks, supervisor gives a few tasks.

In a store where nobody wants to help out a fellow associate how would you go about balancing all these important things and getting them all done? this year's springtime has been more overwhelming than last year
