My son started CLEPs at 14 - just finished Intro to Psych. 62 - his lowest score yet.

He said the test was too random - with some questions about stuff he had never heard of. He did the entire Psych book that is on Modern States - and some of the questions were not related to anything in the book.

He is finishing up Pre-Calc. And starting Macroeconomics.

So this house did not have gutters when I bought it. The rain came down on the window bump and ruined the LP siding over time.

I pulled the siding off knowing there will some issue inside. Well, I am not the first to be in here. Looks like the previous owners handy brother in law (complete hack) just put in some 2x4s and didn't take out the soft wood - or stop the carpenter ants. The ants did a number on some of the 2x4s.

So now the whole thing has to be redone.

I called a guy to give me a quote (waiting). If it was just the siding, I could handle it myself with a buddy. But I have no idea how these bump outs are held in place.

The 2x10 is connected to the joists. But it has to go.

It was super hot today so will rip more off to get a better view this week. Already put 2 kinds of ant poison on there. And some on a nest I found nearby.

I have never encountered carpetner ants until I moved into this house. Two trees were full of them - they were in the ROW so the city cut them down. I have to assume they are all around my house.

So our 2021 M3 battery died. Still under warranty.

Got call today from Tesla service saying they also want to upgrade the suspension to hold the battery weight. I questioned him about why they need to upgrade the suspension as they are just replacing the battery.

They then sent me an email asking me to sign some forms to authorize them to add suspension parts. It states:

"As an alternative to replacing your vehicle’s Lithium-Ion HV Battery with the same type of Lithium-Ion HV Battery, Tesla is offering you the option to retrofit your vehicle with Tesla’s latest Enhanced Lithium-Ion HV Battery."

And "There are some advantages with the Enhanced Lithium-Ion HV Battery:

• A potential increase in maximum range, depending on the previous Lithium-Ion HV Battery’s age and other factors

The Enhanced Lithium-Ion HV Battery is heavier than your current HV Battery.

In order to ensure optimal performance and vehicle dynamics, as part of the Enhanced Lithium-Ion HV Battery retrofit, Tesla service will

retrofit upgraded suspension components. Tesla Service will install updated front suspension springs and dampers, rear suspension

springs, front suspension stabilizer bar, and perform a four-wheel alignment. In addition, the vehicle software configuration will be

adjusted so that your vehicle properly utilizes the Enhanced Lithium-Ion HV Battery.

The Enhanced Lithium-Ion HV Battery and related retrofit components will continue to be covered by your vehicle’s existing limited warranties, if applicable."

I have no clue if this a good upgrade or not.

I have a 2024 Model Y and the suspension sucks donkey. The roughest riding car I have owned. Our M3 is much smoother. And the 2020 Y I got as a loaner once was also way better than my newer Y.

I just don't want my M3 to be as rough as my Y.

Anyone else experience this?

I haven't had FSD for 5 or 6 months. It was pretty good last time I used it.

My daughter's 2021 M3's battery died. It barely made it to the service center. Yes, under warranty.

But even though daughter has a Tesla & Tesla insurance, they won't let her drive the loaner - as she is under 21.

So I got a new Model Y loaner and she is driving my 2023 Y (a shitty build honestly).

FSD works flawlessly.

And every time I get a loaner, I realize how shitty my Y is. I had an old beat up loaner once - and its suspension was so much better than my late 2023 build. And the new Y is like a different vehicle - I can't feel the road at all.

Daughter doesn't want to do the dorms. She is coming in with a lot of credits so will be taking her major classes from the git go. So workload too much for mass chaos of the dorms.

I see some U of M places and Coops. Are these decent options?

Or better to just rent an apartment?

We are just starting out in our quest for housing : )
