If there’s one thing I learned from this sub

It’s to always have a back up plan. No matter how much you love or how long you’ve been with your partner. Lots of post here are unfortunately from couples that have been together for 10+ years and suddenly find out something absolutely terrible about their partner.

Anyways, this post is just to hopefully help in some way. Always put yourself first no matter what because you just never know.

How are people always the same at work?

Weird title, I know. But what I’m trying to ask is, how are some people ALWAYS the same person at work everyday?

For example, sometimes I’ll have my days when I want to be social and I’ll say hi to everyone. Go up to people and talk. But other days I just DONT want to socialize or associate at all and I know it shows. Small example, I may not make eye contact or I may not be engaged fully in a conversation and just want to get back to my desk.

So either I just don’t pick up on others being off, or other people are just always on, and wake up not exhausted and ready to always take on the day. 😭

Outrageous AC Bill. Apartment manager convinced it’s normal.

Hi all!

I just moved to a 788 Sq Ft 1 Bedroom 1 Bath apartment on the third floor and my AC bill came up to $300 and says I used 1500kwh! I came from a 1500 sq ft 3 bedroom home and paid about the same there for my electricity. I also keep my AC around 74-78. Also checked the windows and doors for drafts and so far nothing major but went to Home Depot to pick up a weather strip just in case!

When I brought this up to the apartment leasing manager, she gave every excuse under the sun why this is normal and how they can’t do anything until we compare it to a previous bill.

I had put in a maintenance request and so far they changed the filter and changed out a capacitor in the AC unit. But it still seems to be short cycling..

I did go to the actual AC unit itself and it’s VERY dirty and not leveled.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Moved into an apartment to save money but I’m spending about the same as my mortgage at this point 😭

EDIT: Okay so I guess this is normal. Honestly makes me feel better because I was worried my unit was broken and they weren’t fixing it. Going to keep my AC higher and look into insulating the apartment better. Thank y’all for your comments 🙏🏻

EDIT 2: So, either y’all are overpaying and don’t know it, or your square footage isn’t close to mine. I ended up calling GEXA energy and even the representative was shocked how much KWH my apartment was using a month. A plan for a house ended up making sense for my usage at the moment until the AC unit is fixed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Going out to eat alone

Do y’all ever feel like people look at us more often than couples when eating in public? It’s sort of like a confused look or a second glance sometimes lol

I’m 4’11 31 and F. Last night at a bar the bartender said to me “you look so calm and at peace eating by yourself! I could never do that!” I mentioned to her that it’s a little tough at first but you learn to enjoy it!

Need help locating

Hi all!

I’m not big on making expensive purchases..but I stumbled upon this Kate Spade wallet purse and am in love with it! But of course…it’s sold out.. does anyone know of any websites that could possibly sell this 2nd hand or new? :)

Also was very surprised Walmart sells Kate spade. Only knew about this because this purse was on their front page!
