Has anyone tried the Love Bus from Galleria to Eastwood?

Hi! Has anyone here tried riding the Love Bus? I can’t seem to find details about it other than news articles. I’m considering it as my main mode of transportation to work when I move in the area but I wonder how realizable it is given they seem to only have 10 units. Hoping someone here can answer my questions:

  1. How much is the fare?
  2. Is this permanent or just a temporary initiative?
  3. How often does the bus arrive? Where can I find the time table?
  4. If I’m coming from Eastwood to Eastancia, where do I ride?

Stay with parents and save or live solo for growth?

Lately, I’ve been feeling torn between staying financially comfortable at home or spending more in exchange for new experiences. Asking for advice here since I feel like most of you might’ve come across this dilemma before.

Context: I’m (28F) from Visayas, but went to college in Manila and was able to land a Manila-based job after graduating. I started working during the pandemic, so I kind of entered the workforce during the peak of WFH. In a way, it was both a blessing and a curse. Because of remote work, I never strictly had to move to Manila for my job, which was helpful especially early on when my salary definitely wouldn’t have been enough to comfortably live there.

Since I started working, I’ve been living with my parents and have been able to save around half my salary every month for 6 years now. Financially, it’s been a really good setup.

But for a long time now, I’ve also wanted to experience living independently in Manila. My work (different employer now but still Manila-based) doesn’t require me to be onsite often, but I still feel like being there would help with visibility, and indirectly, career growth. Honestly just expanding my horizons in general outside of work as well, because I feel like even my personal life has become stagnant here in the province too.

My biggest hesitation is financial. If I move, I’d probably go from saving half monthly to barely saving anything at all. I tried to do the math and I may have to live paycheck to paycheck depending on unexpected expenses.

For people who made a move from the province to Manila: was the experience, growth, and independence worth the hit to your savings? Or do you think it makes more sense to maximize the financial advantage of staying at home as long as possible?

Recommended organizers for female solo joiners?

As the title suggests. I’ve been wanting to spend some of my weekends on easy daytrip hikes but as a solo female joiner, safety is always a concern.

Looking for tried and tested organizers. Better if you’ve had first-hand experience with them :) thanks in advance!

Hi! I plan to move to Manila from Visayas soon and am looking at these 2 properties as they’re both within my 15k budget for a studio and are near my work (Bridgetowne) and preferred gym (Arcovia area).

These 2 properties seem pretty similar and are also located near each other so I’d like to find out more about them, especially compared to each other.

Any insights would be so helpful since it’s I can’t visit them and see for myself at the moment. TIA!

Hi! I’m planning to move to Manila soon to be closer to work in Bridgetowne (near Opus Mall area) and I’m considering this property.

I’m from Visayas pa so all I could do is research online for now, but I can’t find much about it.

I’m considering this property because of the price for the size. It fits my budget of 15k max inclusive of dues and I appreciate the big cuts (compared to most studio cuts). But I’m aware that this could be because the building is old. I’m curious if this is an okay property or if it has issues that are just not worth the price.

Other things I’d also want to know more about:

How to commute to to/from Opus Mall/Bridgetowne? And how the traffic is going to/from there.

I also run so I was wondering if I could safely run around the area, especially at night.

Other feedback, especially about this property, would be great appreciated!

Hi! Please help a probinsya girlie out 🥹 I’m planning to move to Manila soon to be closer to work in Bridgetowne (near Opus Mall area).

I’ve been doing research online, but it’s difficult to get a clear picture, especially in learning about what the commute is like and finding out about the actual feel of certain areas. Taga Visayas pa kasi ako so its hard for me to arrange so many property viewings when I don’t have clear leads yet.

I’m considering Cubao, Eastwood, or Pasig Rosario/Santolan areas, and would greatly appreciate specific property/condo building recommendations.

My priorities:

15k budget max on rent incl. of assoc dues for a furnished or semi-furnished studio. Condo sharing isn’t an option for me.

Commute: Easy commute ride to/from Opus Mall/Bridgetowne. Also open to taking grabs but ideally somewhere not more than 1 hour away via car ride.

Secondary things I consider: I’d love an area that’s surrounded by restaurants, cafes or things to see so I don’t feel cooped up in a box (compared dito sa probinsya). I also work out a lot so a place near gyms and that I can run around would be great.

I’d be grateful for any leads and recommendations. TIA 🙏

I just bought a secondhand Minolta X-700, and I immediately noticed something off when testing it. This isn’t my first time using an X-700, so I’m sure this isn’t normal behavior.

I tested it in aperture priority mode at ISO 400.

When I point it at a bright light at f/2, the meter responds and gives a reading. But when I point it at a slightly darker area, the reading doesn’t change at all (see photos 1 & 2).

If I reset the camera and repeat the test but this time dark area → bright light I get the same result (photos 3 & 4).

Another odd thing: even when I change the aperture from f/2 to f/18 while pointing at the same bright light, the meter reads the same (15/30).

Has anyone experienced something similar with the X-700? Is this typically fixable, or is it likely a deeper electronic issue?

For context, I recently had a similar experience with a secondhand Minolta XD where the meter was lighting but consistently reading overexposed. A repair tech checked it and basically told me I’d be better off replacing the camera.

Honestly, I’m starting to feel a bit discouraged like I’ve just been unlucky with Minoltas (or maybe film cameras in general 🥲), so any insight would really help.
