What to do from here as a 41 year old AM?

I'm in a new job in probationary period living in a major US city and the job hasn't been going well after a few months in. My probation ends in a few months and I don't feel that it'll be a pass (for the first time in my life). This team and nature of the role have not been a good fit. Disappointing as I thought this would be my forever job and the income is good.

My dad is planning to move back to his home country in Asia right around the time when my probation ends. If I don't pass probation, would it be a stupid idea for me to follow him? He'll likely rent for a bit and I'll be splitting costs with him. Cost of living is definitely cheaper there. I have work visa and permanent residence visa for there so I have no issues with that.

When the probation ends, my financial situation at that time (assuming no market return), would be:

$800K in invested assets across retirement/brokerage accounts and no non-mortgage debt. I currently rent and my lease also ends right around the end date of my probationary period. I own two properties: 1 is rented out to my sibling in the US so that mortgage payment is covered and 1 I bought outright in Asia. The monthly rental income from this secondary property, I give to my mom which effectively retired her last year so I can't live there. Total real estate equity is about 350K.

I see 3 possible scenarios:

  1. I get to stay in my current job (but chances look slim) and really save a lot as the money is good. I'll be able to greatly improve my financial situation if I get to work here longer beyond the probation. Job has been taking a mental toil on me due to lack of fit and I don't even know if I want to stay either.
  2. Job ends and I make the move to Asia with my dad. We get along really well and I'll temporarily live with him in Asia until I find my next path in Asia again. Likely look for either a local job there or a remote job or other that allows me to fund my life abroad.
  3. Job ends and I stay in US looking for another job. There's nothing tying me down here in the US as I'm not stuck with a mortgage, am single, no kids, etc so life abroad for the second half of my life sounds more exciting but don't know how it'll turn out.

What to do think?

How can I sign up for Hana 1Q or Hana EZ to pass verification if I don't have the physical security card? I am back in US now

I signed up for Hana 1Q when I was living in Korea and have been using the app with no issues, but Hana is switching to a new version of the app requiring a whole new verification process. The phone number associated with my account was a temporary local Korean number which I don't have anymore. I also don't remember ever receiving a physical security card so I get stuck when going through the steps in the new app.

I'm going to call this number tomorrow. +82-42-520-2500 Is there another number to try as well? I tried the Hana EZ app and it also asks for the last 2 digits from the security card so I get stuck there as well.

I have the bank booklet containing my account number and the Hana debit card.

Early 40s male living in a studio apartment - how's that perceived in LA?

Let's say it's a studio apartment in the downtown LA area and the person is single. When it comes dating, could this be a negative to to the opposite gender?

Aggressively looking to build positions in GPIQ, QQQI, and GPIX in my brokerage. Am I doing it wrong?

My current brokerage has about $170K

- $10K in SGOV

- $45K in QQQI

- $15K in GPIQ

- Rest in growth ETFs

I'm focused on developing an income stream that I can tap into during times of need. My goal is to get to about $2000/month through a combination of QQQI, GPIQ, and GPIX. I'm aggressively putting all my leftover money each month into those types of ETFs only for the time being. Afterwards, I will revert back to growth investing. Any downsides of what I'm doing?

Is there a possibility to get cut before probation ends? Started a new job

I recently started a new job that has a 12 month long probation. The nature of the role has taken me by shock and it really seemed to be a bad fit for my personality all around. Also, I don't think I'm getting along with the team lead who holds all the hiring/firing decisions.

I'm still showing up everyday, not missing a day, and doing what I can day to day. But within this team culture I might be sticking out like a sore thumb.

Can a county job just drop you suddenly or will I get to finish out my probation at least? While I'm grateful to have a job and I might regret it if I don't get extended beyond the probation because going through the whole job search process will suck, but maybe it's for the best.

My milestone was $500K in my IRA accounts 🎉

I'm 41 and I plan to grow this for the next 19 years.

I also have a 401K and 457B which I'm maxxing out, but the IRA will be one of the main foundational pieces.
