Anyone successful quit post-35?

I'm turning 35 in about a month and feeling a bit down about my weed usage. My life isn't a (complete) shambles but I've got this idea in my head that if I could just stay fully sober from weed from 35-40 I'd be able to get some great momentum on things that would really improve my life.

I have a new career I'm working towards, become much more open to long-term dating and finding a partner, and if the stars align would even like a family of my own one day.

So any success stories from anyone who has successfully quit post 35? Would love to hear them if yes. If you have any tips would also really appreciate hearing them.

Battlefield Power Research should be added into the default game

The current dynamic with red spells really isn't great and I like spells a lot. Considering the research menu already exists, it'd surely be an improvement on the RNG status quo.

What is the opposite term of AI Slop?

I'd define "AI Slop" as something like "work that is made by AI that is superficially high quality but lacking polish or originality".

What term would you use for output by AI that is not just not slop, but extremely high quality work?

Maybe "Artisanal AI"? "Artisanal AI output"?

Day 1 - Checking in

Taken some longer gaps over the past few years but never made it to one full year. Wanting to try and hit this goal, here is my day 1 check in.

Why is a Masters of Teaching one year in New Zealand and two years in Australia?

Especially considering that it seems NZ registered teachers are able to easily transfer their registration to Australia (mutual recognition) and many Australian states actively recruit in NZ (if you look on seek.co.nz, often the first ad popping up for teachers is to move to Victoria).

If I was in a cynical mood, I'd wonder if this a result of union shenanigans? The classic "restrict supply so that existing members of the union get better benefits" play?

I'm tempted to go and do my masters in NZ and then just transfer the recognition over. Seems silly to spend two years doing what could be done in one.

Anyone know any streamers/casters who have tried out battlefield powers anomaly?

Hey all,

I like the look of the battlefield powers anomaly but haven't seen many examples of VODs showcasing it. Anyone know any streamers/content creators who have some show matches?

EDIT: Or a request to any streamers! I think it would be interesting to see this new gameplay option tested, especially as it seems from the patch notes the devs would consider adding it to the game if popular.

You should know about the game, Mechabellum. It is having a free weekend

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/669330/Mechabellum/

It is in my opinion a massive leap forward in strategy game design and likely to be genre-defining for future MP titles. It fuses the slower-strategy style of turn-based games with an auto-battler that brings the strategy to life.

I could easily see a similar gameplay style being combined with Warhammer 40k, Lord of the Rings, or any number of IPs and it would print money.

I am not associated with the game developer in any way other than as a fan of the game. But it is so good I think it is worth your time to have a look, especially if you like chess but find it a little bit too constraining to be interesting long-term. And much worse graphics.

Low player count on dimensional rift makes it hard to try Battlefield Powers

I really want to try out the new battlefield powers anomaly but whenever I queue for rift, even if I wait 5/10 minutes I never get a match. I get 1v1/2v2/brawl matches very quickly, normally between 5-30 seconds so I know it isn't an internet issue.

It's a bit frustrating cause I love the idea of the battlefield powers and would like to see it added into the game, but I can never actually try it.

Any solutions anyone knows of?

I've more or less spent the last 6 weeks high

I moved to a new place (I'd lived in the same city before) and have basically spent the last 6 weeks high. Been eating terribly, no exercise, ignoring my hobbies, delaying some things I need to be doing. I'm fortunate enough to be okay money/job-wise but still just really disappointed in myself. I spent 6 weeks smoking weed, eating junk, masturbating semi-compulsively, and playing video games.

I'm tired of living like this. I've got two weeks before I need to go home and visit family. My weed is officially GONE as of this morning. I intend to have a 2 week rehab session of no weed/no porn/good eating/more exercise.

Weed is always great in moderation but I just can't ever bloody STICK to moderation. I just start binging and ignore all other responsibilities in my life.

Every time I lose it's because my opponent gets some pure luck RNG bs or abuses imbalanced content.

Whereas when I win it's because of my better decision-making ability under time limitations, thoughtful board compositions, and creative tower strike tactics.

Why can't the devs balance this game properly so that matches are more consistent?
