My turn!

I'm rewatching OC S11 and after Tamra's body building competition, Heather goes to hug her and says, "My turn!" I didn't realize that phrase goes back that far. Of course I heard it in Ben's Heather's voice and giggled. On a side note, that season, which introduced Kelly (ugh) to the group, and included Meghan King, was still better than anything with Emily and Gina. Watching Heather yell at Kelly was supremely satisfying.

Edit: S11, not 10

Jamison's first day working for Jeff was AWKWARD

Yesterday on 789, I caught Jamison's first day working for Jeff's show (June 2019) and good lord it was awkward. The scene was reminiscent of the ambushing of Nicky Paris because the guest was someone named Dr. V who pushed for a confrontation. Jeff brought up how his board operator--Archie--had done something that angered him (shocking, I know) and Jeff confronted him publicly (shocking, I know) and Archie didn't show up to the next show and Jeff assumed he quit (working for Jeff but not Sirius). Then he introduced Jamison as the new board operator.

Dr. V said he shouldn't cut people off, and Jeff had someone bring Archie into the studio to talk out their issues. Archie came back and during the discussion it was revealed that he didn't show up not because he didn't want to work for Jeff but because he thought Jeff was in NY that day. So Archie found out he had been permanently replaced by Jamison in that moment, live, with Dr. V pushing a therapy session. To make matters worse, Jamison and Archie were work friends, and Jamison kept apologizing. Then Jeff was laughing about how Jim Thompson was texting him, angry about the whole scene.

I wanted to time travel and tell Jamison to run.

Other Mommy trailer

I saw The Odyssey today and was pleasantly surprised to see a trailer for Other Mommy, starring Jessica Chastain, adapted from the Josh Malerman novel Incidents Around the House. The trailer had one of the scenes from the novel that stuck with me for weeks. Looking so forward to the film based on the trailer and how good the book was!

Rewind episode: RHOC S14E23

The rewind episode posted to help tide us over during Ben & Ronnie's much-deserved vacation is making me think and feel way too deeply. It's the reunion episode when Vicki walks out, and they do an excellent job of skewering her, so that part was enjoyable. Ben says something like, "There's no way she can come back," which is perfectly timed for the latest season's drop later this week. Vicky is back in a time that is rewarding her brand of bad behavior more than ever. They recorded the day after Christmas in 2019, on the cusp of the pandemic. Emily's story line about gaining weight and being "diagnosed" as obese is pre-GLP 1s and her most recent physical transformation. The episode in particular crystallizes a point in time we won't see again--for good and bad--but also reveals the depressingly cyclical nature of politics and two steps forward, [four] steps back. I'm still on the fence about watching the upcoming season but will definitely be listening to the recaps.

McBee Baby Introduction

I cackled when Cole's baby turned and looked at the camera because she looks EXACTLY like him and I wondered what Ben in particular might say about the resemblance (she looks like the mom too, but Kacie also kind of looks like Cole). I am 100% watching this terrible show just for the WWC recaps.

Anyone know this guy?

Travis (he proudly introduced himself) likes to run over pigeons in parking lots. At least one kid was in the car while he continuously drove through a flock of pigeons on the ground in the Shrewsbury Petco parking lot. When I walked over and asked him what he was doing, he said he was showing his kid the pigeons and could do whatever he wanted. When I asked why he had to drive so close to them, he repeated that he could do whatever he wanted (with the requisite cursing, etc.). At least one pigeon in the flock was dead after he drove away. I have video (the car is a Pathfinder) and a still of his license plate. To whoever his partner is (if he has one, and I have my doubts), this is what your guy gets up to with your kid(s) in the car.

Never ending Below Deck Down Under, please

Please let this season go on forever and forever so that we can continue to hear these recaps. The Joao zims, Jenna's unintelligible speech, the Ben and Ellie exchanges, Daisy's accent . . . And their spot on take of Jason's lame leadership.

Ben's Misse is perfection as is Ronnie's Mark, so when they did the scene from Myka's event in the season finale, I was chuckling out loud and clapping my hands at the accuracy. Bravo better bring the show back so we can continue to enjoy their voices.
