Thoughts on attending a new program?

Hey guys, I’m starting a brand-new CRNA program this fall, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. The school is fully accredited, but since there aren’t any graduating classes yet, it’s hard not to wonder what to expect.
For those of you who attended a new CRNA program (or were part of one of the first cohorts):

- What was your experience like overall?
- What were the biggest challenges of being in an inaugural class?
- Were there any unexpected advantages?
- Did you ever regret choosing a new program over a more established one?
- Did you feel prepared for boards and clinical practice by the end?
- If you could go back, would you make the same decision again?

Im excited about starting, but I also have a lot of “what if” thoughts since there isn’t much history to go off of. I’d really appreciate hearing honest experience from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.
Thanks in advance!

Any black women live in Pittsburgh?

Going to be moving to Pittsburgh later this year for school and I’m getting extreme anxiety. I had read some posts about how Pittsburgh is considered one of the worst places for black women, but those posts were from years ago. Any black women here that currently live in Pittsburgh? If so what are your thoughts? Trying to post this on other subs to get more feedback

Dating while in school

Question for current/former CRNA students — what was dating like during school? Did anyone successfully start a new relationship while in the program, or did you feel like there just wasn’t much time/energy for it?

I know the workload is intense and school becomes the priority, but I’m curious what real life balance looked like for people socially/dating-wise over those 3 years.

So I am going to be attending a university in Pittsburgh and I’m looking for affordable housing. The apartment that I found and really liked is requesting a $300 nonrefundable application fee and then once that is approved in order to move forward with the leasing process, you have to pay a $500 refundable deposit. Not completely sure but I believe the nonrefundable $300 includes the application fee and the admin fee.

Is that even normal? I’ve only heard of application fees being around $50. I haven’t toured the apartment yet and it’s one of the last remaining units left which is why I wanted to go ahead and pay the fee to hold the room, but I find it extremely odd to pay $300 for an application. Especially if I may not even get the room. I don’t think it is a scam especially because it has lots of good reviews on Google but where I’m from application fees are usually cheap so I’m not sure if this is just something that is common, especially in the city.

For context the complex is keystone flats. Has anyone ever heard of it? I spoke to someone that worked there and they were very nice and it seemed legit.
