Question about driving habits

Hi friends. Y'all have been super helpful whenever I've come to you. I appreciate that. I'm back with a question about something I've noticed about drivers in the area.

For context, I'm 45, have only been in the area a few years, and in previous years I've lived in places like Orlando, Dallas, Houston, and Washington, D.C. Each of those areas have their own driving quirks, like how in Orlando all the tourist areas feature people driving 10 mph under the speed limit while they struggle to follow their GPS, or how in Houston signalling for a lane change will lead to the other drivers blocking you out.

What I've noticed here is that whether I'm walking the dogs in my neighborhood or am out and about, any time I see another driver on a 2 lane road the other driver is so close to the dividing line that sometimes the tires are actually on the line itself, but as soon as they see me they love to the middle of the lane. I've never seen this behavior anywhere else I've lived or visited, and I'm wondering if anybody knows why this seems to be the case around here? It not every driver, of course, but it's frequent enough that's it's registered as a curiousity.

TL/DR, why do drivers around here sometimes ride the center line?

Bypass firmware update check?

Today I learned that if the app doesn't have Internet access it will error out while trying to check for a new firmware version. Is there a way around this? If not, could the app be updated to auto-progress if it times out trying to check the server?

(Yes, the button words. I like watching the app count down.)

I want more control

I want to be able to remove this area. I find it useless. All it does it take up space that could better served by delivering helpful information.

If I can't get rid of this, and since downgrading the Health app back to the useful 6.x version requires more configuration that I want to fuss with right now, what's a good Android alternative ecosystem to Samsung now that they're getting less user friendly?

Freestyle 2 issues since Tizen update in March/April

I know nobody really uses these, as all my searches over the last weeks have been fruitless. Ergo, I turn to you, Redditors.

My Samsung Freestyle 2 updated to Tizen 1720, and since I've had issues with three specific apps: AMC+, Disney+, and Paramount+. I've reported the app issues with each of their respective teams. As these issues only presented after the Tizen update, I suspect an object handling call changes that affects apps loading and interaction layers. I've factory reset the device and the behavior persists.

AMC+ loads only to the point of showing the AMC+ logo in the top left corner. I've left it there as long as 15 minutes without anything changing.

Disney+, similarly, will not load the profile login page or sign in page. I've let the app sit for up to 20 minutes, and it just stays dark grey.

Paramount+ will not respond to the up, down, or Enter/Choose buttons. The left/right buttons will change the background carousel.

Model Code: SP-LSP3BLAXZA

Software version: T-KSU2EPWWC-1720.7, BT-S

Status Code: 40P01_AA51AC4AE42_Z

Sub-micom Version: T-KUEPRTV-1000

Any ideas that don't involve screen mirroring my Galaxy Tab or connecting a dongle are deeply appreciated.

Looking for great fried chicken

I was spoiled growing up in The South. Between Publix, Church's Chicken, and later PDQ, there was always solid fried chicken available. I've been struggling to find great fried chicken up here. Popeyes is solid for what they are. Raising Cane's seemingly thinks flavor is evil. Where can I find crisp, crunchy, juicy, flavorful fried chicken around here?

I'm 45. I've been working in tech since I was 17. Started as a bench tech, expanded into networking, spent the last decade supporting a mix of Enterprise IT and MDM for a public facing fleet of 1000+ systems spread across 50+ locations within the U.S.. They let me go late last year. I've been looking since.

I am so very, deeply tired of seeing job postings that list AI tools in the job description, and depressed over postings that want to see the use of AI on resumes.

I cut my teeth on "garbage in, garbage out". These AI models were all trained on Internet content, which we app know is mostly garbage. Using them is soul sucking.

Why can't I just find a company that just needs a solid tech wizard who relies on decades of experience instead of 5 minutes of chatting with a bot?
