Coffee Beans - acceptable roast date

I just bought some coffee beans from interstate. Not something I usually do, but this particular roaster had a unique bean I wanted to try and they were on a discount.

Unfortunately it took 12 days to get through Aus Post here to WA. Worse yet, they were already a full two weeks post roast when they were sent. That’s pretty poor.

Ten days has always been my absolute max for a one kilo bag.

Curious as to what you fine people find acceptable?

Item marked as delivered - it wasn’t - why?

Weird one. Last night a parcel from Canada said it was marked as delivered at 8:14PM I was actually outside taking rubbish out at the very moment I got the notification,no one was there. No parcel, not at my neighbour’s either. No photo or proof of delivery. 8:14 on a Friday night would be a weird time for an Aus Post delivery.

Is this just someone pressing a button wrong somewhere? Curious how this happens and as a process how it gets rectified.

How much more can I cut?

Hello.
Four weeks ago we had a pretty gnarly storm. I lost a good chunk of my fence.
My stingy 30 year old lemon tree gave up all of five lemons during the storm.

However, to get my fence fixed I need to cut it back to make a bit of room.
My SO has asked me to seek advice before I cut back any further as she’s had this tree almost her whole life so if I kill it she said she’d kill me.

I’m in Western Australia, it’s mid winter and this is as cold as it gets now - around 16 degrees delicious in the daytime at worst, can get down to around 4 degrees at night.

I’ve done most of what I have to do, but I’d like to remove some height as it hangs over a footpath near a bus stop.

I myself think I’m okay to cut a little more, but I’ll defer to your wisdom.

Yeti Rambler fail rate?

My original tan camo 36oz rambler was always pretty bad at insulation, probably only half as good as my other yetis. I finally got annoyed and warrantied it. Got a refund. Went and sourced a Black Forest green.

The Forest green is worse. I washed it out and could feel the heat through the bottle.
Frustrating as I’ve had to source the Forest green from another state, so while yeti will cover the bottle I’ll have to cop the postage fees again.

My question is am I just unlucky or is the quality control going down? For context I have 40 or so yeti containers, these are my first faults.

What determines if you get the estimated delivery time?

Some parcels get this, some don’t - I presume those delivered by Aus Post buggies have a more accurate timeframe than the many contractors who are harder to track? That’s my guess.

I’d be interested in the actual reasons from those in the know. Cheers

Garry Lyon tears the stand rule apart to Greg Swann’s face.

Swann is defending the indefensible here. For all of its intentions this can’t be how they envisaged the play happening under the rule.

Swann’s approach here is endemic of the AFL, inability to accept the obvious and admit fault. Yet for a professional sporting body, it makes more errors than any I know.
