I mean it's just obvious when you think about it. After all, they have to constantly withstand the cognitive dissonance that comes with believing so many contradictory things all the time.

Like think about Covid. It was apparently released on purpose by China as a deadly weapon, but also it was a hoax and wasn't any more harmful than the flu. Not to mention the vaccine. Trump should win a Nobel Prize for Project Warp Speed, but also the vaccine was more deadly than the virus, also the virus which was either harmless or a bioweaopn depending on the day of the week could just be cured with horse paste, so why even need a vaccine?

Then you have the classic conservative opinion that we need to stop being the world police and "focus on America". Unless we're getting involved in Venezuela or Iran, because now apparently Trump says those are cool, despite saying not to vote for Kamala because she'd start a war with Iran, when Trump does it suddenly it's a good thing.

It must be because of the left that things are so confusing! Since the left is a bunch of woke pussies... you know until it's convenient to say they're all violent domestic terrorists. Just like how immigrants are lazy and soaking up all the welfare, but wait aren't they taking all the jobs?

I think it's fine to care about your beliefs, ethics, culture or whatever else, but people fixate on race a strange amount. Race is for the most part nothing.

I get a strange uncomfortable feeling for example even as a white person when I hear someone saying shit like "Oh white people are going to become a minority in America." Because like, okay? I've never once in my life considered that "whiteness" is something I need to preserve.

I want to add, I think this applies equally to every race, but I just personally happen to be white.

After many centuries of fantasizing and hypothesizing, humanity finally detects signs of intelligent, semi-advanced life coming from an unexpected planet. The world's atmosphere, climate, and location are so hostile to life that we officially name it the first "Deathworld".

A ship is dispatched to investigate right away. Upon arrival, they're unable to hail the surface from a distance, receiving no reply. Tentatively a small crew of brave individuals boards a landing craft to make first contact.

Once landed however they are met with... an almost whimsically polite society of friendly little goobers? Turns out that on a world so antithetical to life, mutualism and symbiosis is so much more advantageous to life than predation. So much so that the predator prey dynamic never even developed.

What I'm trying to say is that your fantasies of pedophiles being killed / tortured / etc, are nothing more than virtue signaling at best. At worst it's just you fantasizing about applying vindictive cruelty onto what you see as an "acceptable target" which is weird and unhealthy in its own way, and not the motivation of someone interested in protecting children.

The people who already have offended or will offend no matter what aren't going to be deterred by your fantasies of violence. The people who will be affected are those who don't want to offend and can't help the fact that they are the way they are. Those are the people who otherwise might have seeked therapy or professional help, but are too scared to open up even to a therapist.

Additionally rhetoric like "Every offender should be tortured/ killed immediately" just makes it more likely they will take more drastic measures to keep their victims quiet. I'm absolutely not saying they shouldn't be punished by the full extent of the law, but going 100% on the extremism just increases the likelihood they'll kill the victim to keep them quiet.

Pedophilia should be taken extremely seriously, but people who haven't offended are not criminals despite how you feel about them. If you truly care about the safety of as many children as possible, making sure those who don't want to offend feel safe enough to speak to a professional.

There are countless other people in the world who trust in and believe mutually exclusive religions to yours, but they believe them for the exact same reasons.

The reason you don't believe their faith is the same reasons they don't believe yours.

It's honestly arrogant to assume that amid the literal countless number of faiths, beliefs, and religions... surely you believe the only true one.

The most honest answers are "I believe none of them" or "I don't know."

You cannot have a system where a vast majority of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of an extremely small number of billionaires without it becoming an oligarchy.

There must be some kind of regulation for the system to prevent the accumulation of such levels of wealth. It's insane to me how effective the propaganda in the US has been at convincing people to white knight for billionaires.

They will inevitably lobby, bribe, or rig the system in their favor every time if left unchecked. We know, we have the data that shows politics follows the whims of the top 1% more closely than any other demographic by a very significant margin.

It's just truly baffling that people living paycheck to paycheck or who are just well off enough to be comfortable will scream and cry how unfair it is if you attempt to tax these people or hold them accountable. Defending billionaires who literally would not hesitate a second to cut your pay, benefits, pension, price gouge the fuck out of you, lobby the government against your best intrests, pollute your neighborhood for a 1% profit hike etc etc.

These people don't give a fuck about the well being of normal people and will actively sabotage your quality of life just so they can have more and more and more. Stop white knighting for them.
