Can I use the same material for casting and the mold?

Hi I wanna make a rubber item and I’m seeing a lot of information on silicone rubber so my question is would it be ok for me to use silicone rubber to both mold and cast the item or do I need to use a different thing because they stick?

How to get a perfect reflective finish?

So I’m making this helmet and I’m doing so much research into making the perfect finish but I’m just not getting it. I’ve prepped this perfectly as far as smoothing goes but my trouble hits when it comes to spray painting. Am I supposed to do dust coats until the whole helmet is one solid color or am I supposed to only dust the first coat then wet coat to get the solid color? Is there supposed to be just one wet coat or? I feel dumb having to ask cause I feel like this stuff should be common sense for most. I want a mirror like finish but my reflection in it is warped and choppy.

Why are the creases grainy?

I smoothed this helmet and washed before painting even did a wipe with a tacky cloth before hand but the creases are grainy while the rest of the helmet is smooth.
