This is something I've been thinking about since I see people on here complain a lot about the behaviour of xo fans on tiktok, twitter and Instagram. But when you go on those sites, they complain about how bitter it is to be a fan on Reddit. And I can't say they're wrong exactly, outside of this designated subreddit I have noticed a lot of hatred towards the Weeknd and downplaying of his success that isn't really as prominent on other sites. Plus we tend to be less parasocial on here and more accepting of criticism in a way that could get you jumped on tiktok for example. What do we think?
Since he's probably gonna be taking an extended break, what kinda album are y'all hoping to get when he returns as Abel Tesfaye? And do y'all even WANT a switch up?
“It almost feels like ‘Planet Her,’ but it’s in the Eighties and it’s not in the Eighties. Electronic and synthy and wavy and dreamlike and sensuous and textural. Lots of thin noises with metallic and watery, bubbly droplets. Tongue in cheek, as always, and sexual. I love to write in that realm.” (@PopCrave)
ok so as ive mentioned before i love odetari and all his music so much, but i cannot listen to fucking green goblin i hate it so much 💔 the rest i fw. what's y'all's least fav/one you dislike?
For me, it will always be I Want You. That song has such a soft, dreamy feel to it, but it still hits emotionally in a way only Janet can pull off. It’s one of those tracks that just wraps around you—smooth, warm, and timeless.
I remember being about 4 years old and hearing it on the radio for the first time, and it just stuck with me. I also remember 106 & Park playing the video, and it always had that calm, romantic vibe that made it stand out from everything else on TV at the time.
Even with it being co-produced by one producer which I won’t name, I still absolutely love it. It just has that classic Motown-inspired feel mixed with Janet’s signature style—something about it feels nostalgic but still so smooth and intentional.
It’s one of those songs I can still go back to today and it feels just as beautiful as it did back then.
Question for the Janet fans: What’s your favorite single from Janet?
I'll Go first,....
