Guts and Griffith as samurais : if you like Berserk and Vagabond, you should definitely read Shigurui - 2004

the story starts with a pretty peasant femboy who comes in one of the most famous samurai school in Japan to become the new Dojo’ “sensei”. Samurai Guts is the one chosen to fight Samurai Griffith and defends the school, spoiler: the femboy wins and become a well seen student. The two will become friends. Samurai Griffith was born from a prostitute and never knew his father. He wants to become the mightiest of the lords (daimyo) in all Japan and will do EVERYTHING in his power to achieve it even as a low born man. Samurai Guts will later loose his left arm (not a spoiler because he’s seen without his left arm from the first pages of the 1st volume), so the Berserk references are pretty huge. Enjoy if you read it!
