Bought an Xbox, what to look for ?
Hello. So I recently bought an og xbox and after reading and watching tons of information about its maintenance and common issues, I took it apart - this is something I've never done before for any electronic. From what I can tell from the video encoder (conexant) and the power connector (two rows of pins) this is either a 1.2 or 1.3 model. I think I've correctly identified the clock capacitor, which has a blue inspection mark on top. To me all the capacitors seem in very good conditions and the circuit board itself looks surprisingly clean.
Should I still take the clock capacitor out asap? I'm also planning to repaste the cpu and gpu with some arctic mx-6. If some of you could take a look and also tell me if I'm missing something I would really appreciate it. I'm planning to softmod it eventually.
