European graduate here, curious about fellowship programs and their general accessibility to someone who has not worked in the American system at all.

Hallo, Schwarm. Es gab mal so ne Discounter in Trier, so eine 1-Euro Shop Version Ding, den gibts bestimmt 15-20 Jahre nicht mehr. Weiß jemand zufälligerweise noch, wie er hieß?

This might be a bit of a special case, but I’m struggling to get a drivers license because of my amblyopia. The optometrist I went to said that I don’t have sufficient vision in one eye to qualify, apparently it needs to be 70%< in both eyes individually. With both eyes I’d qualify, though, apparently.
I wear glasses and don’t really have any other issues in day to day activities, so… wtf.

My brain decided that 35°C is where all functions stop, and I gave in and bought a Luftkühler. Unfortunately, apparently my brain actually doesn’t work at that temperature and while I checked the energy rating, I didn’t double check that the exhaust pipe doesn’t fit through my windowpane. Those things are adapted for sliding windows and I have the kind that you can open or shut. Does anyone have any ideas how I could still make this work? Or will I have to bite the bullet and return the cooler?
Help an overheated gal out, please.
