If you had to choose one: Haptics or Motion?

I'm building a new rig and am trying to decide between motion and haptics.

If I go with motion, I'll buy the D-BOX GEN 5.

If I go with haptics, I'll go with the slip-angle 4-corner bass shaker setup.

My goal is not to become faster or more competitive. I'm more interested in realism.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

3Dconnexion refuses to support an open-box Space Mouse Pro

I purchased an open-box 3Dconnexion Space Mouse Pro from eBay. There is a mechanical issue with the controller. I contacted 3Dconnexion support to purchase a replacement part, and they told me there was nothing they could do since I'm not the person who made the original purchase. I have both the eBay receipt and the original purchase receipt. The unit is less than 60 days old.

After going back and forth with support a few times, I asked:

> So, buying a used 3Dconnexion product means that the device can never be serviced or fixed. Do I have that right?

Their response was:

> Unfortunately, we will not be able to help.

The eBay seller has agreed to a return, but 3Dconnexion's lack of support is ridiculous. I wasn't asking for a handout; I simply wanted to pay for a replacement part.

I will not be buying another 3Dconnexion product moving forward.

Painting more than 1 layer deep?

I designed a hex truchet tile where the paths align no matter how the tile is rotated.

I've tried painting the tile in Bambu Studio but the color only applies to the topmost layer. This means that the gray isn't actually gray because the underlying white layer shows through. I have an X1 Carbon if that matters.

Is there a way to paint so that the internal depth of the color goes deeper than a single layer?

(Apologies if this is a dumb question... this is the first time I'm using the painting functionality in Bambu Studio)

Thanks in advance

Over $8K down the drain

In 2023 I bought a MSI Steath Studio gaming laptop for $3,800. Two months after the warranty expired, the motherboard died. MSI wanted $2500 to replace it. So I decided to just by a new one: a Raider 18 HX which was $4200.

Three months out of warranty, the Raider died in the exact same way. MSI wants $3000 to replace it.

All told, I've spent about $18k on MSI products (here's the list).

Support says there is absolutely nothing they can do for me and that my best course of action is to "just buy a new laptop".

I will never buy anything from MSI again.
