I passed the 66

After all the stress I passed!
My suggestion is study just as hard for the 66 as you did for the 7 and you will most certainly pass.

My experience on the test,
The test definitely felt like a bell curve.
I think I worried too much on the Analytical methods, they were tested, but for me they were simple.
Know who registers where (IA, Fed IA, BD, Agent)
Know exempt securities/transactions

Keys for my success
Using all 3000k Kaplan Q bank
Purchased STC 4 supplement exams
Purchased Test Geek quick sheet pdf
WatchedYouTube videos

Series 66 trap questions

The time is finally come I’m about to take my serious 66. Just wondering for those of you who have taken it before or have heard stories what are some common traps to look out for?

Series 66 in 1 week

I take the series 66 in one week. I’ve already done all of the Kaplan questions. Now whenever I do simulated exams on questions that I’ve already seen before, but not necessarily memorizing the answers. I’m 80- 85 percent. When I was going through the questions the first time I can only score 70, I’ve done Ken’s brutal exams, and I score pretty well on those around 80 as well and I also did the free questions on career employers website and scored 80 on there as well. What do you think I should do pretty nervous I really hope I can pass this thing. I put in the work, so will the test be easier than the series 7. If I study just as hard for this one as I did for the series 7. Please let me know your guys’s thoughts thank you.

Kaplan Practice exam

Just did the one practice exam that Kaplan gives you that you can only take once to see if you’re ready for the exam I scored a 70.9. I take the test August 4. What are yalls thoughts is that practice test Kaplan gives you way harder than the actual test, cause that’s how it was on the 7

Passed Series 7 my second go around.

Guys I passed and I am so proud of myself this is the best thing I have ever done academically since graduating Air Force Tech school. I never went to college never studied finance, It took me a while to grasp the whole Series 7 lingo but after I failed the first time it was a wake up call. This test was so hard for me to study for, first time I took the series 7 I used STC just did practice questions that’s it. When it came to test time it felt like every question I had no clue. So second time around I switched to Kaplan and read the book, and did the QBank which in my opinion were harder than the actual test, and I killled it.

What was my test experience(everyone has different experience)

The start was actually easier than I expected first 10 questions I was 100% except 1 that I was 50/50 on
So that boosted my confidence for sure.

What was on my test

  1. A lot of options (KNOW YOUR SPREADS/STRADDLES/COMBOS)
  2. Only 2 on Margin
  3. Only 2 balance sheet
  4. No Partnership
  5. 4 Margin
  6. A lot Mutual funds
  7. Only 2 bond math question
  8. Suitability, but it was a cakewalk for me because I knew my products. People always say suitabilities the most important thing which it is, but you have to understand. You have to know the products enable to nail suitability. (Options are part of suitably) like what should the investor do to protect or to hedge and what not

What tools helped me

  1. Kaplan>STC
  2. YouTube Ken (Cap advantage) His burning math video literally gave me 3 questions on my test I owe him! Ken has the best memory aids in my opinion.
  3. YouTube s7g he is super chill as well I watched a ton of his videos on muni bonds and investment company’s that’s where he helped me the most
  4. Doing deferent providers free practice questions to keep question wording fresh. Don’t get used to providers wording because on the actual test, they will word it completely different.

The series 7 is behind me and now I’m onto the 66 thank you so much for everyone helping me along the way.

If you have any questions, I’ll gladly answer.

Good luck, test takers

Series 7 retake tomorrow ( I have no confidence )

I have studied for months now this past month not working studying every day for 12 hours, and it feel like there is still so much I don’t know, the rules balance sheet, underwriting control/restricted person, different market like all the different OTCQX OTCRX ect. And the different quotation systems there are thousands it feels like. I know what they are but I can’t describe every detail like the exams requires us to do. I’m good on options I think I’m pretty good on suitably. I know my bonds and mutual funds, UITs BDC, face amount. I hope I can pass I have never studied for something harder in my life. What should I do today before I take my test tomorrow?

Series 7 exam concerns

I take the test in about a week and a half. 2nd time going in. First time I did practice questions and got A's on all of them (after taking them constantly probably dia 1000 questions a day untıl I got my score to to Above 90 percent). this was on STC, thought that would be good enough, but it wasn't so l changed to Kaplan. Read the book highlighted what I didn't understand and did open book quizzes. I've already gone through the Kaplan questions all 3600 now when I do practice exams I'm getting between 70s and 86.
I've watched the series 7 guru and Ken's videos probably like 30 hours worth. Pretty sure I'm good on options struggle with underwriting and balance sheets good on taxation, pretty confident in my knowledge about investment vehicles. I Never went to college, never tried hard in high school so I don't really know how to study. What are yalls thoughts?
