Tasting club bottle kill

We had a share in a club tasting that resulted in a kill. My understanding is that this distillery shut down? Our member said they bought several cases because they love it so much. Bit too sweet for me. I'm glad I was able to sample it.

8th tasting in the books.

What a fun tasting this last Saturday for our tasting club. Love bringing people together and hosting these events for our members. Sompleit is making that easier and easier. Clear winner of the evening was the Glenmorangie. I'm not a scotch convert yet, but I liked what we tasted.

Scotch recco's?

I can't get many regular whiskies near me, but they always have a ton of scotch. I've stayed away from scotch since the peaty taste has never been my thing. Can the community take a look at what's availed to me in this image and suggest 2-3 bottles that are economical and maybe less peaty? Emphasis on economical. Thanks in advance.

Next tasting?

It's hard to get whisky here. It's even harder to get bourbon. So you can only guess that ryes are like unicorns. Managed to gather a few from friends passing through.

In my tastings, I usually charge $20-$25 for the tasting. 3 flights and a proper paired meal cooked by a private chef.

Flight Club.

Translations - Still needed?

I'm making some updates to my software. Thought it would be nice to start translating into different languages. Is translating still valuable, or are browsers efficient enough to solve this? Thank you.

FC Tasting #7

Okay so the gin tasting happened.

I've been calling it The Gin Awakening, which in hindsight set expectations I couldn't fully deliver on. Nobody woke up. But nobody hated it either, and for a room of self-declared gin skeptics that actually feels like progress.

We poured three bottles I dragged back from Portugal — all from a small distillery called Sharish out in the Alentejo. The flagship went first, easy and citrusy, did its job. The Orange Blossom was the wildcard, floral and a little unexpected. But the pear one — the Pera Rocha do Oeste, limited edition — that's the one that got people. Like visibly got people. They were smelling it twice, holding the bottle, the whole thing.

Still no full converts. Everyone just wants to keep going, which I think is actually better. Curious is better than convinced.

Good food, good company, another one in the books. Already thinking about what's next.

(We manage the whole club through sompleit.com now if anyone's ever wondered how we keep this thing running.)

Super Wife.

Try this again (image was missing) ...Wife got these down from the states for me. I know they are not fancy, but whiskey is hard to get down here and I'll take what I can get. They will be great at our future tasting club.
