Why Don't Cars Have Rear Wheels Hidden like in This Pic?
Saw this pic on r/hypermiling , and it made me think why isn't there a removable panel hiding the rear wheels like this. It's more aerodynamic, right?
Kiitos ajastanne :p
"How Do I Respond to This Argument????" THINK, FOR GOODNESS' SAKE, THINK
I often see posts in which the OP is lost on how to respond to an argument. In every case, OP doesn't give their thoughts or specific issues they have in overcoming the argument.
The posts are lazy, and seem like a reflex more than a thought-out reach to crowdsource an answer. It seems like there was no independent thought put into the debate/posting process, as if the one asking only reiterates arguments heard before.
For Goodness' sake, think. I know we live in a world where everything can be checked almost immediately, but it is ok to rely on yourself.
I think the mods should add a new rule for those type of posts. I think they should require a mentioning of 1. why the argument needs help to be answered, 2. where the OP tried to take the argument, and how that route lead to a dead end, and 3. where exactly are they stuck.
Oonko ainoa? Mikä on teidän lemppari? Ootteko jopa itse keksineet??
Ehdoton top 3:

Kyseessä on EVGA GeForce GTX 1060, en tiedä onko 3 vai 6gb.

Will Fleetari Get Angry if I Didn't Take His Car?
I somehow always manage to take my car to Fleetari's on a Friday afternoon. This time I didn't take his car. He just called me telling me he's done. Am I screwed?
Since the Character is a 19-year-old in the 1990's, This is Canon. Deal With It.
Is the Stock Oil Filter Any Good?
The all black one, "oilfilter0". Does it actually filter anything or is it basicly an ornament?
Where Do You Keep Your Vehicles?
I keep my Hayo in front of the front door without obstructing the garage, my Satsuma is either next to it or backed up into the garage. The Kekmet is by the wood pile, Jonnez in its original position, Gifu at the gas station, and Ruscko is at Fleetari's.
Also, show me your Satsuma, I'm looking for inspo! 😉
Where is Peräjärvi - My Educated Guess
Peräjärvi ("Rear Lake") is a generic-sounding name for a lake, in fact, there are not one, not two, but six places all called Peräjärvi irl. At first I believed the in-game one to be set in Savo, since Teimo and Sirkka speak in a heavy Savo dialect. Also the player's mother's maiden name, Kesseli, is a word that only appears in eastern dialects (meaning a pot, or someone stupid, a clown). In fact, there are only three notable people irl named Kesseli, one of whom has written a book related to Savo with the other two being born in Savo and Karelia.
However, Peräjärvi is located in the fictional municipality of Alivieska, clearly inspired by the real-life Ylivieska (ali- = sub, under, lower and yli- = over, superior). Here's the thing: Ylivieska is in Pohjois-Pohjanmaa. Now this is where it gets interesting. I opened page 188 in the VK-TTV, and saw a map (1st slide). Just for fun I tried to locate Peräjärvi using the presumption that Alivieska=Ylivieska. I found a pond that resembles the in-game lake some-what (2nd and 3rd slide respectively).
Of course they aren't an exact match, and are of different sizes (one is a pond, other is a lake), but look at the bottom-right corner of the 2nd slide: Alavieskantie, Road of Alavieska. Prefixes ala- and ali- are hard to translate due to the nuance, I guess the best way to explain it is ali=direction and ala=location. But in either case the closest translation is "lower".
But how could it be in P-Pohjanmaa, when the local entrepreneur and grandma both have such heavy Savo dialects? To that I have a couple of possible explanations;
Teimo moved to Peräjärvi after the USSR fell apart, which caused economic downturn in some areas. If his hometown for example relied on industrial output using Soviet materials, the area could've been heavily affected.
Sirkka and Valto are/were Karelian refugees who moved to Rykipohja after their home was claimed in 1944. This wouldn't be intuitive, since Sirkka doesn't speak in a Karelian dialect, but I could be wrong or maybe some parts spoke like that. After all, Sirkka mentions Valto having built the house, which is a traditional rintamamiestalo (sorry, an English source isn't available).
Still, there is a strong case for Peräjärvi to indeed exist in Savo. You see, it's dark from 22:00 to 4:00. A whole six hours of darkness isn't to be expected in proper summer in the north. Savo is way further south, so the lighting would make more sense. And given the fact that the house is in Kesselinperä, the Kesseli family should've been living there before the 40's, especially since Sirkka's house isn't even there.
On the other other hand, the radio plays an ad for a hungover treatment center in Oulu, saying there's no longer a need to travel to Helsinki. Savo is closer to Helsinki than to Oulu, the regional capital of P-Pohjanmaa. Also, the open-air theatre has signs pointing to Rovaniemi and Helsinki at a 180-degree angle. Even though neither Ylivieska nor Lahdenlampi fall directly in between the two, it's way closer to reality compared to Peräjärvi existing in Savo. Although this could be explained by it being a literal theatre stage.
But let's address the most popular hint: Teimo's shop irl (4th slide). Seppo's shop is located in Yttilä, Satakunta. The town looks like Peräjärvi, even the church. However, I think we can ignore that as a clue to Peräjärvi's location, as nothing apart from the visual appearance and MWC's Taxi driver's/employer's Pori dialect (and maybe Ters' Turku dialect) support that.
So then we're left with more scientific methods of locating Peräjärvi. For example, moose are more common in the north, but hills are more common in the east. The trees are mostly pine and birch, both are common in both places.
Methods that I could think of but didn't bother to do (ig I could if this post somehow blows up) were using a star map, locating the frequency of NPC last names, being exact with dawn/dusk times, going through all NPC dialects, using the ski jump hill as a point of reference, and using clues from MWC.
Tl;dr/conclusion: Based on the mentioned arguments, I would say Peräjärvi exists in Savo, although afaik it's unconfirmed. A very close second contender would be Pohjois-Pohjanmaa. Thank you for your time. All feedback is welcome and hoped :')
Why Isn't There a Mod for This Already ?!
If you've played MWC, you'll probably noticed the Kekmet is slightly different. The radio is a bit to the right and to its left it has the panel for rear work lights and a beacon. It also comes with a lever to operate the log cutter, and the ability to idle without the hand throttle. I wish there was a mod for that in MSC, to make it like it is in MWC.
I have no clue how to mod, but if you're a modder, what do you think, would it be too much work? I'd love to have that!
Eläinlääkärin päivystysnumero, jossa ei vastaa tekoäly?
Koira löysi iltalenkillä epäilyttäviä kanankoipia metsästä, tarkoituksena olis saada ohjeita kuinka toimia. Evidensialla hintaan 2,3€/min alkaa tekoälybotti puhumaan. Onko parempaa palvelua?
Edit: soitin sitten uudestaan, ihminen vastasi. Koira ei oireile myrkytykseen viitaten tai muutenkaan. Tankoparsaa ruokin nyt aamulenkin jälkeen toisen kerran. Kiitos kaikille neuvoista ja huolesta :)
Kommenteissa vielä kuva näistä kanankoivista
If There Would be an Update, What Would You Like to See in It?
I'll go first. I'd like some Vanilla+ mods make it to the vanilla game, like
- Some aspects of Repairable Ruscko
- Usable light in the small space in between the hallway and front door
- Openable cabinets
- Places to attach a spare tire, warning triangle and car jack
Also some vehicle changes that I haven't found a mod for, like
- Repairable Gifu
- Kekmet as it exists in MWC (maybe the log cutter could be purchaseable from the Amisauto ky catalogue, and a log pile could be found somewhere between Loppe and Livaloinen)
- Paint and rust removal options for the Hayosiko (I'd love to have a yellow one!)
Bug fixes, like
- The battery boxes jumping around
What do you think?
The 2020 demo has much more of that "dead on the side of the road" vibe, while the full release is more appropriate for radio, right? Comment Topless pls fix if you agree🙏
Facelift or Pre-facelift?
I just pulled an SLX, but it's facelift. Can someone please provide pics of the differences with facelifts and pre-facelifts, or list the differences?
