Yesterday I cancelled the booking for Elevate!
We were really happy the day we book the Elevate. We took multiple test drives, even asked dealer to bring it to my parking to check parking compatibility.
We did not get confused by other fancy/feature rich options available in the market. Both of us liked this car in the first sight. We decided to buy a black one.
The evening I booked this car, same evening our PM came on TV and asked to consume petrol consciously. That was the first moment when we became bit concerned about petrol availability in upcoming days. We thought about it for some time, then decided to proceed.
But immediately after we made the decision to continue, this BIS shit came into news about E22, E25 and E blaw-blaw… more confusion. Soon Gadkari gave statement that Maruti launching flex-fuel car on 5th June.
There is no clarity whether they will keep selling E20 after E blaw-blaw or not. All we left with confusion.
Middle class people in this country cannot even buy a car peacefully without policy confusion every second week.

People Still Buying Petrol Cars After E20/E25/E30 News, Am I Overthinking This? Someone Give Me Confidence.
People still buying petrol cars after E22 / E25 / E30 fuel announcements… what are your thoughts?
Ngl, all this ethanol blending news is making me overthink buying a petrol car in 2026. People who recently bought or buying now, any regrets?
| Feature / Attribute | Honda Elevate CVT | Kia Seltos IVT (1.5L NA Petrol) |
|---|---|---|
| Engine & Transmission | Uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with a traditional push-belt Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). | Uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which utilizes a chain-belt arrangement designed to handle higher torque loads. |
| Long-Term Reliability | Highly regarded for its mechanical simplicity; the powertrain is often described as "bulletproof" for 15+ years of ownership. | Reliable for 150,000+ km if driven moderately and maintained well, but the chain-belt system is generally not serviceable and requires a costly, full replacement if it fails. |
| Ride Quality & Dynamics | Excellent at handling undulating and broken roads. The suspension is robust and rounds off sharp potholes confidently. | Tuned for relaxed, low-noise urban cruising. It is smooth in traffic, but the suspension remains on the firmer side, meaning sharp bumps can transmit harshness into the cabin. |
| Interior & Features | Features a more minimalist, functional interior. It offers a spacious rear seat with easy cabin access but lacks premium features like ventilated seats or a panoramic sunroof. | Offers a premium, tech-heavy digital cockpit. It comes loaded with high-end materials, ventilated seats, dual high-resolution screens, and a premium Bose audio system. |
| Cabin Noise | Cabin noise levels are noted to be significantly higher. | Better insulated for noise, though some road noise can still be intrusive at highway speeds. |
| Safety | Secured a 5-Star JNCAP safety rating. Equipped with cutting-edge camera-based driver assistance aids, including adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and blind-spot monitors. | Achieved a record 5-Star Bharat NCAP rating for its 2026 models. Features a radar-and-camera fusion Level 2 ADAS suite, though the sensors can sometimes be overly sensitive in chaotic urban traffic. |
| Maintenance & Service Network | Known for fuss-free, low-cost maintenance with a moderate service network reach. | Boasts a very wide service reach across the country, but the quality of service and workmanship can be inconsistent depending on the individual dealership. |
I’m teaching my daughter chess. She understands how the pieces move, but she isn’t really thinking about her decisions yet. For example, she is like capture = capture and might trade something like a rook for a pawn.
I understand this is part of being a beginner, especially for a child, but I’m curious: have other parents experienced this stage?
How did you help your child start thinking more strategically and make better decisions during the game?
I know open source gives you a ton of learning.
But I’m curious about the tangible side.
Did it actually lead to anything concrete for you,
job offers, freelance work, startup ideas, partnerships?
Would love to hear honest experiences as I have just now built an open-source but confused whether I should promote it by spending some money or just leave it to be found by its own.
TIA.
