How does victim mentality manifest within Republican party?

The victim mentality is definitely more associated with the Democratic Party, but are there ways in which conservatives see it manifesting in the current Republican Party?

How effective has Trump been at de-politicizing and eliminating corruption in the federal civil service?

Draining the swamp was one of his big campaign promises.

We can all agree that he cleaned house effectively with mass firings, but he also strategically eliminated watchdogs, whistleblower protections, and policies meant to investigate corruption.

How effective has he been in your view?

Edit: to clarify, I meant to say he proactively fired people, but not in a manner I’d consider effective at reducing corruption.

From NTEU: Terminated HHS Probationary Employees Win Union Arbitration!

Message from NTEU:

Victory in Terminated Probationary Employees Arbitration!

We won a sweeping arbitration victory in our fight for HHS probationary employees who were wrongfully terminated in 2025. The arbitrator found that the mass termination of over 3,000 probationary employees was really a reduction-in-force that the Agency was required to bargain with NTEU. Because HHS failed to bargain with NTEU, it violated the parties’ contract and the law. The arbitrator credited the hearing testimony of several brave HHS members who were terminated as probationary/trial employees, finding that they were not fired for their performance – in fact, the arbitrator recognized that they were superior performers.

But the battle isn’t over. The arbitrator will now consider what the remedy in this case should be. And it is possible that HHS will immediately attempt to appeal this decision. Either way, we fully anticipate needing to continue this fight to enforce our win. We are fully prepared to do so on behalf of the many NTEU probationary members who illegally lost their jobs.”

Should any president be able to defund states based on how they voted?

The Department of Energy admitted that 284 grant terminations in 2025 (amounting to $7.5 billion) were selected based on the political voting record of the recipient’s state (“blue states” vs not blue states). DOE further admitted this basis had no connection to fraud, waste, abuse, cost, performance, statutory purpose, or program merit, and that similarly situated grants in non-blue states were not terminated.

How do you feel about this happening?

Edit: the cited court document was submitted by the government admitting to the actions they took to eliminate the grants. In their own words, they said they cancelled the grants based on political voting records of the states where the grant recipients were from.

Plaintiffs accused the government of unconstitutionally cancelling grants because of political targeting.

Gov response:
“DOE accepts that the inclusion of grants in the October notice tranche was based solely on the political identity of the grant recipient’s state, i.e., whether the recipient’s location and/or place of performance was in a Blue State or a non-Blue State.

Compared to past modern presidencies, is corruption under Trump’s second term greater, lesser, or about the same?

Corruption is defined as “the abuse of entrusted power for private gain.”

Best bra for a gal with big boobs and sensory sensitivities?

I loath the feeling of a restrictive bra but sometimes need the support for my big boobs (30/G: 32-30-27/36-40-36). Right now, I usually wear a sports bra or go braless, but that doesn’t work under every outfit.

Any good suggestions based on my size?

Idea for Future Student Loan Reform based on Autopay Interest Deduction

If the Executive has the authority to create policy around autopay interest deduction, then can’t it create a policy to reduce the interest by more than 1 percentage points? Why not reduce it by 4+ points, so people aren’t getting stuck with growing balances while they continue to make payments?

The lawsuits that struck down RePAYE and SAVE were about the Executive not having the authority to create new student loan repayment plans, so my proposed solution shouldn’t face this legal obstacle.

Am I missing anything pertinent to this possible solution for addressing the student loan crisis?

Who do you think leaked to NYT about the coordinated attempt to cover up mentions of Trump in the Epstein files?

The NYT article published a few days ago includes highly specific quotes and details, suggesting that someone in the President’s inner circle leaked the story. The people named in the story include:

- JD Vance
- Susie Wiles
- White House counsel David Warrington
- press secretary, Karoline Leavitt
- the deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich
- communications director, Steven Cheung
- the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche
- the associate attorney general, Stanley Woodward Jr.
- the deputy chief of staff James Blair
- Attorney General Pam Bondi
- FBI director Kash Patel
- FBI deputy director, Dan Bongino

Do you think any of these individuals leaked the story, or could it have been someone not named here? What might their motive have been?

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/10/magazine/trump-epstein-files-white-house-vance-doj.html

Edit: I never said the reporting was accurate. But there were people in the inner circle who talked to the journalists, and those people have their own motives for doing so. That’s what I’m more curious about than hashing out whether reporting is accurate. Clearly some people are unhappy with how things went down.

DOJ finds EEOC guidelines on workplace discrimination unconstitutional

Well, the writing was on the wall. Using the Supreme Court’s ruling in *Louisiana v. Callais—*the same ruling that gutted the Voting Rights Act—the Administration is now moving to strike down another significant civil rights provision, disparate impact liability.

Do you support the new proposed government rule that will require all federal workers to sign NDAs?

OPM director, Scott Kupor, on the matter: “In much of the private sector, employees handling sensitive business or customer information are routinely required to sign confidentiality agreements, and the federal government should not be held to a lower standard.”

There are already laws in place regarding federal employees leaking classified information, so the NDA serves no additional purpose there. The NDA is meant to legally bind federal employees from publicly discussing non-classified information. Many legal professionals don’t even believe it’s legally enforceable due to public transparency laws and workers’ First Amendment rights regarding non-classified information.

Edit: whether you support the new rule or not, the public comment period is open on the federal register for you to leave feedback.

I’m posting on behalf of my sister with her permission to ask for legal recommendations.

She is seeking to file a civil lawsuit against an someone who allegedly sexually abused her as a child. She has reached out to multiple law firms that specialize in this area, but none have agreed to take on her case so far.

We’re hoping to understand why firms might be declining and what options she has from here. Any guidance on finding an attorney willing to take this type of case, or insight into what factors firms typically consider, would be greatly appreciated.

For context, she is still within the statute of limitations for a civil lawsuit. She already filed a police report, but the criminal statute of limitations has already lapsed.

Based in US.
