Avatar The Last Airbender As A Franchise Isn That Good

I love of orginal ATLA series, hot take I know. Its probably the best cartoon ever made. However, I think that most of the media that comes after the original show is mostly sub par. I wont include the live action stuff as the original creators didn't fully work on those projects.

The media after ATLA are the ATLA comics, The Legend Of Korra, The ATLA Movie, and the Kyoshi, Yangchen, and Roku novels. Besides the Kyoshi novels, I think the rest of these are mid or outright bad. The comics feel like fanfiction, with many plot points resolved in a poor way, or just aren't really that good. Korra has so many flaws, and was screwed over by Nick. It had lots of good points, but so much bad, its still so devise among the fandom. The movie was more enetrating than it was good. Sure, it was nice to see the GAANG come back, the animation, the art, and the humor, but the writing was mid. The stakes werent high as we know what happens after, and since it wasn't mentioned in Korra, it cant be too important. The Denied had way to little and rushed development, Taga was a decent villian, but his twist was predictable. Zuko was complety wasted, as not only did he not do much, him trying to atone for his nation's sins isn't brought up once. You would think Zukos guilt about the fire nation genocide would be mentioned, but it isn't. Not gonna go too much deeper into the movie.

The yangchen novel was ok. It had a decent story, but it failed to really capture me like the kyoshi novels did. The Roku book was mid and even a bit below mid. Roku is not interesting enough to have a novel to me, both because of his personality and time period filled with reletive peace. The only extremely good piece of media to come after ATLA are the Kyoshi novels. I truly think they're basically peak fiction along with ATLA. Kyoshi as a character, as well as her time period are so interesting, and I love how they leaned more into dark aspects of the universe.

So out of the 5 major pieces of media after ATLA, only 1 of them are up to par with the original. Besides the comics, I don't think any of the other media are bad, but they're not up to par with ATLA. Now you could make the argument that ATLA was just so good it makes everything else look worse by comparison, but I disagree. LOK S3 was close to ATLAs level in the eyes of me and a lot of the fandom. The Kyoshi novels were really good as well. I think while Nick hasn't been good to this franchise, the writers have been slacking as well.

I don't really have faith in the new show, as I don't like its concept very much, but the first episode came out today so we'll see. But I have a feeling It wont be that good.

The amount of effort Lindsey Clansey would've put into killing is too much to justify her

One thing I don't see people talking about is that fact that lisndey showed way too much effort to not know what she was doing. For one, she knew to do it on a day her husband was gone on an errand she sent him on. That alone should be enough to dispell any sort of idea that she was too mentally unwell to know what she was doing

Next, strangling takes a lot of effort. This might be a bit graphic, but holding their necks, resisting them fighting back, thats alot of effort. It's not something you can just do.

Yeah not much more to add but these were things I haven't seen to many people bring up. Terrible situation. But she'll probably get away with it.

Being an INTP really explains my favorite characters

So when I started to go down the rabbit hole of MBTIs of characters, I found it really funny that the characters that I liked the most were often INTPS. Now this will mainly be anime, as I don't really watch too many live action stuff, and I'm mainly knowable on anime MBTIs anyways

My favorite anime character ever Killua.

2 out of my top 3 fav characters from Naruto(Kakashi and Shikamaru)

2 of some of my favorite female characters/protagonists(Frieren and MaoMao).

My favorite character from death note, and one of my fav in general, L

My favorite character from any anime movie(Yuzuru) is an INTP.

My favorite character from a really good anime I'm watching called "you and I are polar opposites" is Taira is an INTP.

Also, Mikey from Tokyo revengers is apparently an INTP, and he was my favorite character from that series. I'm not so sure about that, seems to extroverted. However, I thought the same about Killua when I first found out he was an INTP, so maybe I'm wrong.

Now for non anime stuff, one of my favorite cartoon characters ever is Dipper. Daria is also an INTP.

Also, Greg Heffley from DOAWK, my favorite book series, is an INTP.

I find all this funny because I never really thought I was the type of person to have to relate to characters in order for me to really like them, and I still do think that. But, finding out all this, I think I might subconsciously favor characters with my MBTI, even before I knew what MBTI even was or that those characters were INTPs.

I might actually conduct some sort of experiment. Like somehow ask peoples favorite characters from any form of media, then have them find out their MBTI. And see if there's a correlation. Maybe one day.

Are progressives considered Liberals?

Are progressives like Bernie or Warren still considered libreals? Now I always knew that there was a difference between people like Bernie and Warren and people like Biden and Kamala, but I always thought that they were still liberals, just not estbashment or neoliberal. But I kinda found out that there are people that consider them separate all together. I reason I thought progressives were liberals is because progressives wanna take the economy back to the new deal era, things like higher taxes and strong unions and social services. And the Creator of the new deal, FDR, is considered to be liberal.

So is progressivsm a subset of liberalism or is it its own thing?

Another question, if progressivsm isn't liberalism, is liberalism dead? Because even people who will call themselves liberals but not leftists probably side more with the progressives nowadays.

I'm sick of people who don't do anything critizing others for not doing anything

So ever since the Epstein files dropped, I constantly see videos of people claiming that we aren't doing Enough. "Bread and circuses" "love island slop" "sports are a distraction" "the French rioted for way less" "we're not angry enough" etc etc.

Now the thing is, I mainly agree with them. But my issue is a lot of those same people also do nothing, nor do they make any concrete steps to actually make change. Like we get it, the world is messed up, the envoirment is being ruined, the foods being poisoned, the cost of living is too high, no Epstein justice. But a lot of these same people who say we need to act, organize and revolt, don't actually do any of that in their real lifes. These people probably don't have any plans, probably dont community organize, or know they're neighbors at all. Probably don't have any actual plans to fight the system, probably don't know any skills or how to fight, or are outta shape. It's all kinda preformative

Another thing is people who do this act like theyre better than everyone else when they do the same thing. Like I see a lot of these posts on TikTok, which is probably the most addicting and brainrot app you can have. Like you spending hours on social media is ok, yet me watching sports or someone watching love island is the worst thing in the world. I get it, there's no Epstein justice, the economy sucks, they're poisoning the food, the envoirment is being destroyed, ai taking our jobs. But I don't wanna think about that all the time, and neither do the people that say this.

Now I can't complain too much because they're right to an extent, but the way they go about it is just wrong, and is honestly a bit preformative and morally grandstanding

Why I Don't Care Azula's Story Anymore

So like the rest of the fanbase, I really love Azula's character and was really Interested in how the story would handle her character in the comics. Itt was 9never mentioned in ATLA or Korra, so I thought the comics could do a good job at giving her a conclusion. However, I don't care anymore, for the simple fact it's taken far too long to resolve her character arc

Her first appearance in the comics was in the promise part 3, which released all the way back in 2012. It's been almost 16 years since she first appeared in the comics, and her arc STILL isn't over. I think at this point, whatever the creators decide to pick as her ending, just won't be satisfying because we've waited to long. I don't think any ending that's 16 years+ in the making is worth it.

In addition, I feel like what she does after this, it'll feel unimportant. Azula after ATLA is never mentioned ever again. Even if she does get an ending in the comics, it's probably gonna feel like it doesn't matter since it won't effect the story onwards. It's not gonna effect any major plot points after. From my prediction, it seems like she's gonna try to form another group or something. Maybe a cult, maybe an anti hero group, idk. But we know for a fact it won't matter because it doesn't effect anything in Korra or onwards.

The writers have wrote themselves into a box. They need to give her an ending that still fits with her character arc and how she's changed, but also feels big enough for the reader to care. But they can't do anything but because someone woudve mentioned it. She can't start a new war, can't make a big group that changes the world a bunch. Can't become the fire lord. Can't join team avatar. What ending can they really give her at this point? They could give her a more calm ending, where she doesn't want to seek power anymore, and just settles down somehow. But that would not only be unstafying for a 16 year+ buildup, its not the direction they seem to be taking. But like I said, that can't really happen.

Now another factor in this is that like most of the fandom, I'm not the biggest fan of the comics. They're not bad by any means, but they're a big downgrade from the show. It didn't handle the plot points well Enough and made a lot of choices I didn't like. So the fact Azula's character arc is being finished in a comic series that isn't that good, makes me even more disinterested.

So overall, Azula's ending is being continued in a mid comic, is way too long on the making to be satisfying, and is gonna have no effect on the story at large. Honestly I don't even think the writers seem to know how her story ends, as if they did, I don't think it woudve taken this long. And with the creation of avatar studios and focusing on bigger projects, I don't think it's a priority anymore. They don't seem to care about her ending, so neither do I.

Sometimes I wish the Creators got their season 4, because I think if they did, Azula's storyline wouldve ended alot better. There has been a lot of talk on this sub on should azula be redeemed or not. Honestly I woudve preferred azula not be redeemed, as it woudve been a good lesson on how some people just dont change. That woudve been a much better ending than anything the writers can cook up at this point IMO.

How it feels knowing you have a lot of potential but refusing to lock in as an INTP

It sucks but I can't blame anyone but myself
