What the fuck is "market"?

All my cycling friends keep saying "did a quick ride out to market this weekend", and "want to ride up to market sometime?". What are they talking about? What market? I know it's over the GW somewhere but they won't answer specifically because they think it's funny I don't know. Please help. Apparently this is a very common cycling destination for NYC residents

If there's no arrow on the sidewalk can I just put the tire in either way?

Sorry for the dumbass idiot question but I just got a new road tire. Micro textured but no real tread pattern to speak of. I'm used to having to put tires on in a certain direction, but there's no little arrow telling me which way to go. Just do whichever?

Thinking about upgrading to pedals

Got my new CANYON bice a few weeks ago and have been loving it so far. It didn't come with pedals in the box, but I see so many people on my rides using them. I've heard it makes going up hills much easier. Does it make sense to upgrade even though I'm used to riding without? If so can anyone recommend some reasonably priced ones, don't want to break the bank

FRAUDWATCH: this guy pitched dinner, but he stopped responding to my DMs. I'm still hungry. Who's filling in?

Replace tire or good to go?

Had a puncture on a brand new tire yesterday. Took it off, cleaned out the sealant, glued a patch to the inside, and got it back on the bike. It's not leaking air so I'm inclined to ride it since it'd be such a waste to get a new one, but I'd like some professional advice. Does this look too severe? What's the worst case scenario for me here?
