I've been building another modern-music mix designed to feel like an FM broadcast from another timeline.

This one's crossing over from an alternate dimension that's still in the 1970s.

Funk, soul, glam, blues, disco and rock & roll, sequenced and crossfaded into a continuous broadcast.

Think songs reminiscent of Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Bowie, Parliament, Aerosmith, Marvin Gaye, Zeppelin or America, except everything you're hearing is modern.

I tried to avoid making this just a best songs of the 70s type playlist. The goal was to make it sound more like an old FM station where songs reminiscent of Stevie Wonder can give way to Steely Dan, Bowie, Parliament, Aerosmith, Marvin Gaye, Zeppelin, or America.

For the full effect, start it about an hour before sunset. The playlist gradually shifts from bright daytime new wave into nighttime synths, AOR, and heavier rock, finally capping out the night with a whole block of post-punk 🌇
