What’s the point of broker verification if unverified brokers can still pitch deals here?
There’s a pinned “Verified Lease Brokers” thread, yet I’m seeing unverified brokers offering deals here, including some quoting MSRP. What exactly is the standard for soliciting business in this sub?
I’ve only seen two businesses posting here that are actually verified by Reddit, and neither is even verified by this subreddit. Reddit verification and subreddit verification are separate things, but that makes the process here even more confusing. What does subreddit verification require, who’s reviewing it, and why can everyone else apparently advertise without it?
If your “deal” starts at full sticker and the only savings come from manufacturer incentives, what value are you bringing as a broker? Those incentives aren’t a discount you negotiated. If you’re charging for convenience or finding inventory, explain that upfront so people can decide whether it’s worth paying.
And mods, where’s the enforcement? A pinned verification thread means very little if unverified accounts can keep soliciting business without any visible intervention. Members are left guessing who’s been vetted and what that vetting actually means.
Anyone advertising a deal should disclose their broker status, selling price before incentives, incentive eligibility, broker fee, total due at signing, and full lease terms. “DM me” shouldn’t replace enough information to evaluate the offer.
Nobody’s expecting a massive discount on every car. But transparency and consistent moderation should be the minimum in a community people come to for help finding a good deal.
