My mother uses Xfinity VOIP telephone service. When I call her from my home phone number, her Xfinity service displays my caller ID number and name properly, but when I call her from my mobile phone or google voice number, since my caller ID info is not transmitted, her caller ID display does not show my name, and she is confused about who is calling. I thought that Comcast/Xfinity would provide a way to add contact names and phone numbers to her account settings so that her caller ID would show her that I am calling, but I searched today for such a setting, but I could not find anything. Is there any way to do such a thing with Xfinity VOIP service? My bargain Ooma VOIP service provides such a feature.

I have created a google sheet which uses an Apps Script to retrieve data from an external REST service using a UrlFetchApp.fetch() call. When the script is run for the first time explicitly from the project editor, the sequence of prompts starting with the "Authorization required" dialog appears, and the user can click their way through the prompts to enable access to the external service. The big problem with this method, is that I don't want end users to have to find the script editor and push the "Run" button. but rather simple open the spreadsheet normally. The calls to UrlFetchApp.fetch() are made in a script function which is called on the "From spreadsheet - On open" trigger. No "Authorization required" prompt is displayed, and the script fails silently, so the user's sheet is left empty. Is there some way to force google sheets to display the permissions prompt without the user having to explicitly run the script?

I have a google sheet with a javascript which needs to access initialization data from REST API calls. When the REST calls are made from the onOpen() function, an error message stating that the sheet does not have permission to call UrlFetchApp.fetch is displayed. If the calls are made when the user clicks on a button in the sheet, the REST calls work without a problem. It seems that the sheet's permissions are not actually applied until some time after the sheet opens. Is there some way to automatically make the REST calls when the sheet opens without requiring the user to explicitly request initialization?

If I try to call any phone number served by Comcast/Xfinity VOIP service from my Ooma residential service, I get a message stating the the number is protected by SPAM call filtering, and I need to push two numbers for the call to go through. For a while, pushing the two numbers did result in the call going through, but now all I can do is reach the voicemail of the person I am trying to call. I tried to contact Comcast about the problem, Comcast rep refused to do anything about the problem, insisting that every Comcast customer that I ever want to call needs to contact Comcast separately and ask them to fix the problem. Ooma's tech support wasn't much better. I have called them about 8 times about the problem over the past few months, but it hasn't been fixed. I have had a few confused messages from them about them changing my caller ID, but nothing helpful. The last time I spoke wiht someone at Ooma, after being placed on several long holds, I was told that my case would be escalated. Does anyone here have any idea what is causing this problem or what I could possibly do to fix it? Are there any better alternates to Ooma VOIP residential service?
