I have to get my thoughts down somewhere because I’ve seen a lot of Nick opinions on this sub but none I really quite agree completely with.

I watched THT as it aired and I will not lie, I was a Nick girl. He was the only person looking out for June, he genuinely loved her, and would do anything for her (until he didn’t, more on that later). I understood that Nick was a complex character, but he looked out for June and tried to keep her alive within his means. I know Serena had mentioned that Gilead wouldn’t be there without Nick, but I always had thought that was her trying to sew seeds of distrust in Nick for June. There were questionable things, but we saw all the characters do questionable things at times in the interest of survival, or for their own perceived greater good. Obviously with season 6, Nick’s nearly complete change in character had me absolutely blindsided and I hate how they wrote his ending.

I am currently binge watching the series. First time I’ve ever just plowed my way through it lol. And I suddenly hate Nick? Yes, hindsight is 20/20, but I almost think seeing his actions back to back allows one to truly see how they pile up as opposed to having a week or a season between episodes to think of an action as a one-off, or just questionable rather than full-blown Nazi territory. Even Lawrence I despise in the rewatch despite some of his redeeming qualities.

I guess my question is, if you hate Nick, did you also binge watch the series and not have months or years in between seasons? Also, if you hate Nick so much, do you also have that same hatred towards Lawrence? If you think I’m dumb, that’s fine lol I just have such strong feelings in this rewatch!
