Almost antique family pool table - need to sell

Hi everyone - this 8' table has been in our family for 50+ years. Always indoors, always cared for.  I don't have the space for it in our new house and it's time to find a new home for it.  When my parents bought it in the 70's, they were told it came from a pool hall in north Alabama and was circa 1930's - 1940's.  It's got three slates, all in good condition. When we had it assembled 2 years ago, you could see handmade nails so obviously it's old. It has brand new felt, brand new bumper cushions, a brand new set of balls, brand new cues, a wall rack, chalk holder, and always in a non-smoking home.  Any ideas on valuation?   In the Los Angeles area, need it gone ASAP.

Palace-sized Kazvin needs repair and a new home

Hi everyone,

I’m at the life-stage of inheriting from my parents and also downsizing things we no longer have room for.

We have a Kazvin that is 140” x 202” (11’8” x 16’10”) that my parents got in the early 70’s and were told then that it was approx 1940’s era.

Unfortunately years ago a chair leg put a hole in the rug and my parents were devastated (the rubber square chair protector must have slipped away), but they always hoped the flap could be mended.

I know sales aren’t allowed here but I’m hoping for ideas on how to find a good home for a rug this size, and any valuation that seems fair.  Also looking for repair options in LA.  Sometimes a big city is harder than small towns for trusted work.

I’m reminded of a line from Downton Abbey where Lord Grantham says we are “merely custodians” of things in our time.  While we all know family items are emotional, our hope is to find someone who has the space and appreciates rugs like these.

Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Used dealers

Hi all,
Looking to compile a list of used auto dealers nationwide who either specialize in or appreciate Rivian and tend to have Rivian inventory. Aside from AutoTempest, AutoTrader, cars.com, carmax, carvana, evercars, et al……are there any non-virtual dealers out there like Lindsay VW that you like or have bought from?

For ref: I have an ICE lease ending in October and I’m looking for a dual R1T (under 30k miles, powered tonneau, clean title, major bonus for 22” bright) so I’m doom-scrolling used listings on a daily basis to watch the market and be ready to jump if the right one comes along.
Thanks!

Used R1T's - Monroney sticker

I'm shopping used R1T's for a few months until my ICE lease expires in October (or until my res for an R2 becomes available). Does Rivian help provide Monroney sticker info if you're buying from a non-Rivian dealer? They aren't available online anywhere that I can see, and we all know that dealers have no clue what's in a Rivian. The VIN doesn't indicate color, audio spec, tonneau, or dynamic roof glass, for example, and many listings online don't show all screens of the infotainment.

Has anyone seen photos (not renderings) of any R1 in LA Silver compared to the R2 in Esker Silver? Has the Esker Silver only been seen at SXSW? I don’t think it’s been at any of the block parties yet (it wasn’t at the LA/Venice party). If not, the challenge is now on for someone who owns an LA Silver R1 and goes to a block party….get the color sample block next to an LA Silver so we can see the difference!
