Hi! I’m currently a costume student who spent last term recreating the outfit Margot Robbie wears during the ‘Return to Barbieland’ scene in the Barbie Movie.

A lot of (literal) blood, sweat and tears went into this costume, and I’m really proud of it so thought I’d show it off!

It consists of a bodice, jacket, skirt, petticoat and boater hat. I designed the fabric myself on ‘Procreate’ on my iPad.

Hi! I’m not a doll collector but I am a costume student, this term I have been recreating one of the outfits Margot Robbie wore in the Barbie movie (the one where she returns to Barbieland and the kens have taken over). It’s been a huge challenge, including having to design my own fabric.

Basically I’ve just become really attached to the outfit and am desperate for a memento of my hard work, but I cannot find this doll anywhere. I’m sure she’s very rare and expensive but if anyone ever comes across this post, and is looking to sell I would love her 😆

Hi! I’m recreating a costume from the Barbie movie and I’m severely struggling with pattern matching both the sleeve and bodice side seams.

Since it’s a diagonal pattern nothing I do seems to look right. I know they’re never going to match everywhere but I don’t even know where to start.

I’ve tried drawing the check on but since the seams aren’t straight this throws the pattern off. The sleeve is incredibly frustrating, ideally I want the top check to match and the lines the rest of the way down continuing from the body.
