Outsider here, curious about this game and what keeps you coming back to it

I played TLOU1 a few months after release, appreciated same aspects for which it deservedly got a lot of praise for, but it's nowhere near a personal favorite and I never played the MP or TLOU2.

That being said, I am aware that since the original release there is a small but consistent dedicated fanbase around this multiplayer mode. It reminds me of Metal Gear Online 2 and Uncharted 3 which had the same for years, and still do.

I read on some threads that TLOU Factions has some very unique mechanics but looking at gameplay, it looks like the most run of the mill 3rd person shooter (not saying that it is) though I know resources/looting is also some aspect of it(?) iirc.

Since I've never played it and don't understand any intricacies looking at some gameplay, can you guys explain just what it is about this game that sets it apart? I'm genuinely curious, any replies are much appreciated

My very minor, very specific gripe with the series

This is in no way criticism but just a design choice that personally frustrates me and I would love to see changed: there's no confirm prompt for fleeing a battle.

I love to play these games through Playstation Remote Play as it's perfectly suited for turn based games, but the virtual DPad on mobile is very small which has led me to fleeing battles I don't want to flee. Yesterday, after 15 minutes fighting a high tier Shark enemy in coliseum my 'up' button press registered twice and instead of the likely final hit, I fled. Just now I did the same fighting a lvl60 character for Battle-Tested Sword for 15 minutes...

Just had to share this pain.

I absolutely recognize it's a me-issue, but still.

Just a small observation/going on a tangent about user downloads

For reasons unclear to me, as of a few years ago (or longer than a few, maybe 8 or so) each and every web browser will automatically save any downloaded file to the Downloads directory. First of all, I have no idea why you would NOT want to choose the location but perhaps that's just based on my daily activities and the purposes of my browser usage. I regularly need to download images, documents, setup files etc. and obviously I want to save images to Images directory and documents to whatever folder I have for those, just not downloads.

I'm aware this setting can be adjusted so that the browser will ask for a download location, but few users change this setting (if they're even aware it exists).

Then there's the fact that many organisations use OneDrive which by default doesn't backup the Downloads folder. I believe the same goes for most other vendor applications, Google Drive and Dropbox anyway.

I just feel this is a somewhat risky combination of 'standard practice' and I'm just curious;

  1. do you guys actually like everything being saved to Downloads automatically?

  2. have you ever dealt with or heard of situations where users lost important data because it turned out to not be backed up? And do you think that if the browser had asked them for a download location, this could gave been prevented?

Question regarding Overcharge protection

I've been using a Motorola Edge 60 Neo for around 4 months (great experience so far!) after having used Sony Xperia phones (5, 5 II and 5 III) for years.

On Xperia phones, when using overcharge protection I was able to set the charge limit to either 80% or 90%. I noticed that on my Motorola, overcharge protection is set to 80% be default with no option to adjust this.

I thought maybe the overcharge protection is a Android-native feature but after some Google searching I don't think this is the case. It seems on Samsung phones you can use it (though it's called 'Battery protection') and they offer a slider to adjust the limit, e.g., 80%, 85%, or 90%.

While 10% might not sound like a big difference, the 80% limit is the reason I'm currently not using the feature even though battery life is excellent and 80% would be sufficient on MOST days. But 90% feels much more comfortable. If I could set it to 90% then I would use it.

If AccuBattery explanation is correct (also read it on some articles) a 90% limit already extends long-term battery health by a great amount, in fact if you decide to go lower there are significant diminishing returns.

- is there any good reason Motorola doesn't offer this option?

- is it possible to adjust the limit using adb or something like that? Even if it's invisible in system settings but the 90% is set in system memory/settings that way, would be sufficient.

Please offer us the option to change this!

Do to detonate Sticky Bombs?

Haven't been able to find an answer to this, oddly enough. When using the Sticky Bomb launcher, how do the sticky bombs actually detonate? Do I shoot them using a different gun? Do they detonate on a timer? Or on a successful hack?

I just started playing, finished Judgment yesterday. Early on, the Sky Dancer ability for Crane style gets introduced and it's described as 'mainly a evasive maneuver but can be enhanced with skills later on'. I'm aware that it can be used to launch enemies later on (iirc). But what I don't get is how it is supposedly primarily a 'evasive maneuver', when using it Tak just jumps without going left or right meaning he still gets hit from every attack. Is it supposed to be used to jump over gunfire or thrown objects or something? If not, then I don't see why anyone would ever use it instead of just regular sideways evasion.
