First Time Playing OCtopath Traveler 1

I started the series recently with OT2 and loved it; started the game with Osvald as my protagonist, then quickly recruited Throne and Temenos (mainstays in my party). Initially hated Partitio the Merchant in combat (loved his story though), but as I got deeper into the game, I finally started understanding how to really use him, and he started becoming a favorite.

Only character class I never got a grasp of (feels completely useless whenever she was in my party) was the Dancer Agnea.

Reason for the backstory is that I have an option to go get either Ophelia the Cleric or Primrose the Dancer as my 4th party member to start the game (I started with Tressa, have Olberic and Cyrus to go with her so far).

Can somebody sell me on the Dancer class, or is it gonna be the last one I pick up?

Who’s your favorite villain across the Octopath Traveler series?

Mine is Auguste, the Master of Fame. He was absolutely horrible, but also so entertaining, and I now walk around saying “Maaaarvelous!” about everything.

Cat threw up on the rug? Maaaarvelous!
Passive-aggressive email from a coworker? Maaaarvelous!!

So across OT1, OT2 and OT0, who’s your favorite villain and why? Best written, most intimidating, funniest, best design, best boss fight or just the one you loved to hate?

Heads up: there may be spoilers in the comments.

Starting and Ending with Tressa's story was very gratifying

I just rolled credits on OT1 for the first time and the way Tressa >!recant her journey!< in chapter 4 follow up by the credits rolling and showing all the boss fight encounter through out the game made the ending feel complete.

Now, I know there is a bunch of post game content for me to go through but I wanna ask for y'all opinion about what to do after: Should I continue to OT2 immediately or switch it up and play Persona 3? is OT2 different enough to not have a burn out of sorts? (I've already own all the games just wondering the order to play them)

Those Who Deny the Dawn.

Here’s a fun detail: Trousseau looks sad and unsure of himself, whereas Claude, Arcanette, and Harvey are smiling calmly, confidently, and in a friendly way. Interesting. As we can see, the author drew them with great skill and authenticity. Now that is art!

Well... they’re all cute here. And hot. They’re waifus. Yes. Even Harvey. Even he’s a waifu. Just accept it.

Honestly, The Moonshade Order is my absolute favorite cult—and not just as antagonists, but overall. Everything about them is amazing: their history, origins, lore, motivations, and structure; the way they operate; and just how powerful and widespread they are, with members drawn from every social class and walk of life. The object of their worship—Vide—is amazing and magnificent. Of course, Galdera is the ours ultimate icon, but Vide is also beautiful and stunning. His design and the battle itself are truly something else. Definitely one of the best God of Evil.

Oh, and the Moon theme... I love it. I’ve always been a "night man"— bat. I adore and respect the Moon, so I have huge respect for the Order.

And their key members are fantastic. Even the standard members are good; Reiza is wonderful.

What about the main eight? Yeah, Tanzy could have been handled better—she really feels like a last-minute addition—but she’s still good and tragic. It’s just that more could have been done with her.

Petrichor—I hope I spelled that right... well, yeah, she doesn't do all that much, but she has a great, stylish design and a creepy mask, and she works well as an antagonist operating from the shadows in Ochette's story. Still, yeah, she could have been much better. But she’s not bad.

Ori and Oboro... what is there to say? They are amazing! Truly outstanding characters with a wonderful backstory and personality. They both showcase what our series is capable of.

Trousseau, Claude, Harvey, and Arcanette are genuinely good and remarkable antagonists. Yes, not everything is perfect—some things could have been done better—and they certainly won't appeal to everyone. Despite this, they remain compelling, worthy characters with an interesting and convincing story. Plus, they all feature excellent boss designs, and the battles themselves are amazing. So, despite their flaws, they are truly good and memorable antagonists. We could use more like them.

Lovely. Claude is the Lunar Demigod. Harvey is the Lunar Scholar. Oboro is the Lunar Strategist. Ori is the Lunar Cutie. Trousseau is the Lunar Plague Doctor. And Arcanette... the Lunar Witch. And Vide is the Lunar God... wonderful.

Surrender yourself not unto silent dusk. For the light shall fade. And soon, night shall fall. An Eternal Night shall reign forever. Night is inevitable, and each day you will live beneath its gaze. May Lord Vide shroud your path in darkness, making you and your loved ones only stronger. For the coming of Vide is inevitable. And darkness and night shall always remain, come what may.

Do you use mods in any OT game?

Hi Travelers!

Do you enjoy install mods in any Octopath Traveler game?

I'm currently using these mods in OT0 and I'm loving it:

 1. Nier Replicant Sprite in your male MC > Nier is one my favorite franchises so when I saw this awesome sprite I have to install it!

 2. 99999 Damage Cap without the Passive Skill > I don't like damage cap occupying a passive skill slot so this one is my favorite

 3. Guarantee Drops from any Enemie > It helps me a lot to farm Energizing Ponegranates (L)

 4. Extra Battles on Arena > This one was peak!! The extra bosses gives me really trouble to defeat! I won't spoil the bosses but the final one it was made to

And WHAT ABOUT YOU TRAVELERS? Which mod do you enjoy install in your game?

I need more money for Partitios story.

Pretty ridiculous that a boat costs 100,000 leaves. His ability doesn't give nearly enough money.

Update: I ended up selling all the loot that I saved up, and it was enough to buy the ship. I did go to the merchant guild for the 30% off deal. I dont usually use most of the characters path actions, im just trying to get through the story. Appreciate the advice. I do like the character, hes great.

Unbending

(the real “unbending“ is his weapon, not Olberic himself he’s sad and a big softie)

Really dumb question.

Hi, I wanted to know if there is the possibility to choose the language on Octopath Traveler 1 on Switch, I know it's a ridiculous query but I found a german cartridge on Vinted for a good price and I want to be 100% sure I can play the game in English at least.

Thanks in advance to everyone who'll answer, sorry again.

Could These 3 Travelers defeat this boss?

Could H'annitThrone and Reime defeat >!!<Galderafrom OT2 in your opinion?

Following these rules:

> You can gave Throne any OT2 Job including Advanced Ones

> You can gave H'annit any OT1 Job includind the Advanced Ones as well.

> Reime obviouly cannot pickup a secondary jobs.

> You can use these 3 on the 2 phases.

> You just can equip Throne with the Passive Skills from OT2.

> H'annit and Reime cannot use A Step Ahead.

Whats your thoughts about it?

I really like to dive in strategies for these superbosses fights.

Which Skills from OT1 and OT2 do you miss on Octopath Traveler 0?

Good morning travelers!

Which skills from the previous OT titles do you miss on Octopath Traveler 0?

My list would it be:

 1. HIRED HELP - The simply most broken skill for speedrunners and my ultimate favorite!

I love the idea of wasting money to deal damage!!

And guys and girls.. WHY THE DEVS DOESN'T GIVE THIS SKILL TO TRESSA???? It would be the perfect Ultimate Skill for her...

 1. BEWILDERIN GRACE - I just love RNG skills! I recall playing OT2 and I always uses this skill on bosses to get 100xJP or EXP... I hope they put it on OT3...

 2. CHIMERA - The best way possible to gave out weapons for some damage!

 3. REFLECT - I'm currently with 70h of OT0 and I don't see any skill able to reflect magic skills or a least nullify it... It makes any Boss of NPC with ELM ATK spells anyoiyng to deal it!

Thaught my lvl. 20 Team will die but imma stick it to the shark

Playing it blind and baught the ship. Underestimated the warning at sea and now im at round 80 and the sharks name is still in white.

But with Ochette and her Sommersault and Hikari and his Trap i will beat it... in 2 hours or so.

Update 1: HIS NAME IS YELLOW!

Update 2: 1h 22min after starting the fight it's at red!

Update 3: He is dead. 1h 36min. I put an image of the victory screen in the comments.

Last Update: I died against sea horses before being able to save. Had a good laugh.

Early Battled Tested Weapon

Pretty proud of my (I think) early battle tested sword. No guides used for it which was even more fun imo.

Saw how busted the parry & evasion skills could be with Viator’s ultimate. Saoirse in the back was definitely needed with her ultimate rate boosting skill.

Start of the battle was focusing on debuffing the enemy as much as possible while chipping down their heath a bit. The real damage came when the others started to die and most hits were directed at Viator for him to retaliate with 9999s.

Anyone have done it earlier? I think I could do magic based enemies even easier since I wouldn’t need to wait just for his ult to counter.
