Think I’ve met my ADHD match

I feel like I’ve met my match with my job. It’s been 4 years and I can’t overcome the challenges. I’m good enough to keep it, bad enough to remain in struggle and stress purgatory.

I’m good at getting offers, so I got this leadership job a few years ago and it’s been a wild and intense ride. Corporate America, office politics, strategy, project management are areas where I don’t feel like I can instinctively “see” what to do. My task list is insane, literally constantly 100 things on it and I’m in 25 hours of meetings per week on average, and I’m expected to complete my work in 35-40 hours.

I survive by working nights and weekends at coffee shops, losing my personal time, hobbies, all to manage the workload and stress but it never feels like I’m on top. I’ve been through severe burnout, health issues due to stress, and it’s taken a toll on my mental health.

I’m also stuck - not progressing / not getting promotion. I compare myself to peers and have asked multiple confidants and managers what I can be doing differently to grow in skill and move up and I get basically no feedback. I’m so frustrated I could scream and cry if I let the emotion in too much. It’s become “the great mystery”, what is wrong with me that no one will tell me, the thing that’s holding me back. No one will tell me. I’m screaming at a brick wall.

And yet for some reason I’m struggling to give up on this job and accept that it’s an issue of me just not matching the job. I can’t give up.

Mostly seeking advice.. for any part of the above. Or empathy. Personal anecdotes.

Please don’t inform me about a new to do list app or technique unless it’s truly niche or worked for you… I think I’ve tried them all.

Tldr: What do you do when your job isn’t a match with your adhd, you’re tired of feeling not good enough, but you can’t quit?

Locals advice for staying cool?

I’ve always lived in climates of 32-43 C, with and without a lot of humidity but I’m really struggling with the heat here this week. Think it’s bc there isn’t much AC here. Wondering if the locals have any tricks to stay cool or advice to adapt quickly.

I’m amazed the locals don’t seem to have any visible sweat. It must be an adaptation thing. Any tips would be appreciated :)

Ideas I have:
-stay inside (not ideal)
-museum during hot part of day
-cool shower mid day
-damp scarf around neck/head
-swim
-cold food/bev, gelato

I know the heat gets complained about a lot. Im asking for tricks to deal with it better. Pls be kind :)
