Good afternoon! I have finally decided that I would like to plant a rose standard in a specific area of my yard. I want something fragrant, that flowers beautifully and is as disease resistant as possible. I am in zone 8A. I was looking at the selections currently available on the DA website and, sticking with the really fragrant ones (Desdemona, Scepter’d Isle, Poet’s Wife), I’d love to get some opinions from people who may be familiar with these particular varieties and how they have fared for you.

I really would like to know how the 802 and 802XL inkjet cartridges are exactly the same size in every way but the XL supposedly has a higher print capacity. I’ve had this printer forever and haven’t done a lot of printing over the past couple of years. Yet and still, it seems like I’m always having to replace one or more of the cartridges (even the color ones, when the bulk of what printing I do happens to be black only) almost every other time I need to print something. At this point I’ve decided that this will be my last home printer, and I will just utilize other avenues for the little printing I do. I’m so over the printer ink scams, there really out to be laws to protect consumers.

I have several unopened packets of different varieties of sunflower seeds. I normally like to direct sow them at the very beginning of April but didn’t get to it this year. Does anyone know how long they might remain viable?

Greetings! I recently purchased a bird bath/fountain from Amazon. I would like to get it set up but realized I need to investigate getting a good, heavy duty, outdoor electrical extension cord for it. I figured I would need something water resistant and visited Lowe’s today and didn’t see one cord with a water resistance rating. What should I be looking for?

I am completely saddened today. I decided to take down my BirdBuddy and mealworm feeder because of greedy starlings. I’m dealing with them for the first time ever (I moved to a new state last fall). The starlings started coming around two weeks ago, a bunch of them. I was hoping they would be civil, but I can fill both feeders and my suet ball attachment, and they will decimate them within hours. I have a robust population of various songbirds who frequent my feeders and it’s especially sad watching my mockingbird fledglings be confused today by the feeder absence. Feeding the birds brings me great joy and this has me gutted. 😔
