X-Half for a teen gift?

I posted this elsewhere and recommendations were overwhelmingly to avoid the xhalf… I wonder if that will be different here where there a more owners…

I am looking for a camera for my young teen. They are after a camera to mainly take photos of friends and travels, and want a vintage feel both in the camera body and photos. At this stage I don’t think different lenses etc are necessary. They do have a phone with good quality camera, but want a standalone camera to get that separation from their phone.

To me the x-half seems like it might fit the bill, though I hear it is criticised as being an over priced toy and I am a little concerned re its performance in low light. At the moment can pick one up for about $620 AUD/$430 USD, which is probably toward the upper end of what I would consider spending.

I’d be interested in others thoughts - does it sound like a good fit or is there a different camera I should consider?

Missing words - best non-HRT treatment

I am getting really quite embarrassed by my inability to think of the right word. I have just applied for a job and am so scared I will get an interview and make a complete fool of myself. Are there any non-HRT treatments that have actually, noticeably, helped you with this?

Small group tour India or Sri Lanka - with a 13 year old

I was considering going on a small group tour (Gadventure, Intrepid or similar) to India by myself. My husband and two of the teens have no interest, but the guilt of leaving the interested teen home is getting to me. Although I have never been to India, I thought northern India might be a bit overwhelming for them. Perhaps southern India or Sri Lanka would be more appropriate?

Be interested thoughts on what would be a better option with a teen. Also keen to hear experiences from those that have done a small group tour with a teen

Thinking of getting a small inkle (think Ashford Inklette) - comfortable for lap?

I have been playing with band weaving with a heddle and tied to waist / door knob. I was hoping to find a small loom for band weaving where I could comfortably sit on the couch and weave. Would a small inkle loom (like the inklette) work for lap weaving? Open to other suggestions too

Am I missing something? Seem to be saving money by doing ks - EV

We have had our EV on NL for a couple of months now and by my calculations we seem to be saving (making?) money by doing ks… that can’t be right can it?

We have done 3,000 km. We charge at 5c/kwh from midnight to 6am costing about $1 to add 100ks. So that is $30 in electricity charges.

We can claim that back through the NL company 5.47c per km, or $164 of our pre-tax earnings. That would have normally been taxed at 37%, so we have an extra $60 in our pocket, or extra $30 once we pay the power bill. Is this right?

I already realised an EV NL was a no-brainer for our circumstances, but I hadn’t even factored this savings into it
