Soldiers Compete for Norwegian Swim Badge
Soldiers at Fort Leonard Wood competed for the swim badge in September.
Key take aways
They used spent casings and foamies to track laps. While this was easier for a smaller group it has the potential for people to lose track of where they are at. Also having a 1 to 2 ratio would prevent honor violation attempts.
Coordination with pool staff ahead of time was great. For the CPR portion the CPR dummy on site was utilized, if they did not the alternative was request assistance from the FD.
Being able to choose the order of events allowed time for rest.
Communication beforehand: sharing of videos on CPR, tows, sculling, and extended arm roll ahead of time were appreciated.
