Is there a group for nursing students in fall 2026 already? If no maybe we should create one?

applying for the vulnerable sector check as a future nursing student but dont have a student card

i will be moving to windsor and study nursing in the university of windsor. the vsc is required for the placement. i saw on the york region police website that a student card student card is needed to apply for it. just wanna know is it really a must? the uni told me that only a letter (which i have) is needed.

also, just wanna confirm can everything be done online? when im applying they need me to pick a pickup location, which i probably wont be able to pick up in-person.

thanks!

exchange program for nursing students

hi! i've received the nursing offer from uwindsor and would like to know more about the exchange program for nursing students. i read on the website that nursing students can choose between sweden and australia. im wondering if the competition fierce? how many students are competing for the few spots? how many bursaries can students apply for? do students need to delay their graduation or compensate for the time they are not studying in uwindsor (such as placement)? thanks!

▲ 1 r/osap

I cant decide which program to accept yet. can i apply for 2 osap at the same time in the meantime?

probably a silly question. but ive got 2 nursing offers, 1 from an uni (OUAC) and 1 from a college (OCAS). i think i need more time to consider which one to take. can i accept both offer for now and apply for 2 osap and the learn and stay grant respectively so when i make a decision i can simply withdraw 1 application?

Nursing at UWindsor vs St Clair

hi! i just got accepted into the bscn in uw and and i also have the offer from st clair college. with them being the same collaborative program, id love to know more about the learning experience to decide which school to go to.

  1. is it impossible to connect with the profs in the university because of the bigger class size?

  2. do you get better opportunities (e.g. placement and connections, etc) in the university?

  3. is it more theoretical in the university? but in uw you also start having placement in the first year?

  4. hows the schedule? do i get 5 full days of classes?

  5. How hard is it to pass all classes? Is it manageable with a part time job?

or just your general thoughts about these 2 programs! all insights are appreciated!

Is it possible to become pain-free?

25F here. I’m starting to look into my bunions and flat feet issues, which i believe to be genetic.

Recently I’ve been working as a waitress and often need to stand for over 10 hours. This causes (inner) knee, lower back and feet (around the bunion and 1st metatarsal areas) soreness/pain. I used to powerlift and found out I have extremely poor ankle mobility. I could squat without squat shoes but my foot arch collapses completely and my outer heels would lift a little. I think this started my knee pain.

Just wondering is my case severe? Is it a wishful thinking to become pain-free through non-surgical treatments? I’m about to start nursing school and the job nature of standing for a long time really concerns me.

I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes for about a year and they don’t help at all, so now I’m looking for insole with arch support.

25f. Nursing is gonna be my second degree. I want to be a nurse because of the career, stability and the fact that I can work pretty much everywhere.

I’ve got rn offers from colleges in Windsor and Sudbury. Originally planned to apply for the learn and stay grant but I’ll have to reconsider because of the job market. Plus I prefer studying in Windsor because of the weather, which I know the job market is gonna be even tougher. But I’m also worried that I can’t support myself financially if I don’t apply for the learn and stay grant. So I’m in a dilemma.

But now I don’t even know if it’s a good idea to start at all from all the posts I’ve seen where new grads having trouble finding even a ltc job.

I know in the ends it’s my decision to make but I’d like some opinions. Any insights will be appreciated.
